Matteo used every resource at his disposal to search for any trace of Ava, but there was still no news.

He became increasingly fritable and cold.

The air around him grew so oppressive that everyone was afraid.

His assistant knocked cautiously before approaching his desk.

He lowered his head nervously.

“Boss, we haven’t found any trace of Ms. Collins, but we did uncover something else…”

He paused and looked up hesitantly.

Matteo gave him a cold glance.

“Speak.”

The assistant sighed.

“Ms. Collins was pregnant.”

Matteo’s entire body went rigid.

It was as though he hadn’t heard correctly.

“What did you say?”

The assistant placed the information he had found in front of him.

“Ms. Collins had only been pregnant for a short time when… when she suffered a severe shock and

miscarried. Her chances of becoming pregnant again are also very low.”

Matteo looked down and flipped through the documents.

Over the deafening music, he heard several male escorts talking as they passed outside the private room.

Ava’s name drifted through their conversation.

Matteo shot to his feet almost immediately.

He shoved open the door and seized one of them by the collar.

His eyes were icy, and his face was terrifyingly grim.

“What were you saying about Ava? Talk!”

The escort recognized him as Ava’s husband and nearly panicked.

“We don’t know where Ms. Collins went either. She hasn’t been here in a long time…”

“We really don’t know Ms. Collins that well.”

“Every time she came to the club, she’d pick out escorts, then sit by herself and drink. She was so cold that

anyone who spoke to her felt the whole room freeze. None of us dared go near her.”

Matteo’s grip slowly loosened.

A lost look entered his eyes.

The escort breathed a sigh of relief.

“Ms. Collins was probably only trying to make you jealous. She never betrayed you…”

Seeing Matteo crumple, the men quickly pushed past one another and left.

Matteo stood frozen in place.

He remembered Ava struggling in the grasp of those men at the banquet.

He remembered the male servant grabbing her inside the villa.

Then he heard her desperate cty again.

“Inever betrayed him!”

The bottle in Matteo’s hard crashed to the floor.

He pulled out his phone and forced the tremor from his voice.

“Find the men from that banquet. Bring every one of them to me!”
