My Meek Desk Mate Is the Secret School Tyrant Chapter 11

My Meek Desk Mate Is the Secret School Tyrant Chapter 11

The weekend. I was at home grinding through practice tests, waiting for Orion.

The doorbell rang exactly on time. Not a minute off.

I opened the door. Orion stood there quietly. Simple white sleeveless top. Black pants.

And somehow it hit me like a truck.

I looked closer. No glasses today. Hair done. And there was this cool woody scent drifting toward me.

I stared at him without moving. Orion’s ears went red. He turned his head and asked quietly, “Aren’t you going

to invite me in?”

“Oh. Right. Sorry.” I stepped aside.

As he brushed past me, I murmured without thinking, “You smell really good today.”

Orion stumbled. I grabbed his arm to steady him.

His forearm was solid. I knew he played basketball, but I’d never seen him in a sleeveless top. The muscle

lines were genuinely nice.

He sat at my desk with his face still red. I handed him a glass of ice water. “You always look like you’re overheating lately. Your face just goes red for no reason. Drink some cold water.”

Orion took it. Tilted his head back. Drained it.

I smiled. “So. Let’s start.”

He paused. Hesitated. “Right here? We’re just… starting?”

“Where else?” I scratched my head. “The study is fine.”

Orion’s chest rose and fell. He looked incredibly tense. He stared at me. I stared back. I blinked.

He gave in. “Whatever you like.”

Now I was hyped.

I grinned and stepped closer. Closer. Orion’s face was inches away. His long lashes trembled in front of my

eyes.

Then he squeezed his eyes shut like I was about to murder him.

What was he doing?

I bent down and pulled a massive Barron’s SAT prep book from under the desk.

Slapped it onto the table.

“Surprise.”

Orion stared at the SAT prep book in front of him for a solid five minutes.

I thought he was overwhelmed with joy. I nudged him. “What are you spacing out for? Start working.”

After a long, long beat, he finally spoke. “The force you mentioned… was forced test prep?”

“Oh, there’s more.” I pulled out the full study plan. “I designed a complete personalized curriculum. So

technically it’s forced studying.”

Orion stared at me. “And this relieves your academic stress?”

I looked down, a little embarrassed. My fingers picked at the edge of the desk. “It’s kind of embarrassing to

admit. It’s this little quirk I have.”

“I just like supervising other people’s studying. Helping them while I get a systematic review myself.”

My cheeks were warm. “And watching your progress… it really does it for me.”

Orion looked at me in disbelief. “And the no-stopping-once-we-start part?”

I slapped down a few more workbooks. “The tools are all here. I already paid. Of course we can’t stop.”

He shut his eyes. Sat there.

“So the tools are… workbooks.”
