When the Forgotten One-Eyed Luna Rises Chapter 06

When the Forgotten One-Eyed Luna Rises Chapter 06

The day I arrived at the Northern Gamma Elite Academy, the sky had just begun to brighten.

Outside the academy stood many new students and their families.

Some students dragged their suitcases while their parents followed behind, reminding them of this and that.

Some complained that their mothers were being annoying, but their hands never let go of their mother’s

clothes.

I stood among the crowd with only one suitcase, one folder of documents, and an Alpha recommendation

letter.

No one came to see me off. No one knew what time I would arrive. But I didn’t feel sad.

A volunteer from the academy quickly found me, “Daisy Dawson? Your Alpha had his Beta contact us in

advance and told us you would be coming alone.”

She smiled and took my suitcase, “Come on, let’s get you registered first.”

I froze for a moment, “Thank you.”

She waved her hand, “It’s nothing.”

At that moment, I was stunned.

So being cared for didn’t require me to bleed first, cry first, or prove that I was the one who deserved pity.

When the registration teacher saw my name, she flipped through my documents.

“Your grades are excellent. The academy has awarded you a freshman scholarship. If you need it, you can

also apply for a work-study position.”

I held the pen. When I wrote my name, my right hand trembled slightly.

The teacher thought I was nervous and spoke gently.

“Don’t be afraid. Now that you’re here, just focus on studying and training. I believe you can become an

outstanding warrior.”

I smiled and nodded, “Okay.”

My dormitory was on the fourth floor. Two roommates had already arrived.

When they saw me, they greeted me just like everyone else, never staring at my left eye or asking why I had

come alone, and for once, I didn’t feel like I was being treated differently. One of the girls, Belly, then looked

toward my bed.

“You probably shouldn’t sleep on this side. There are too many things in the dorm, and it’s easy to trip. I’ll switch with you.”

I instinctively wanted to refuse. But she had already started moving her things down,”Don’t worry about it. I

can sleep anywhere.”

I stood there quietly. My throat tightened.

Back home, I often bumped into the corners of tables because I couldn’t see clearly with my left eye.

Mom would only say, “Slow down. Stop making everyone worry about you.”

So there really were people who would think about whether something was convenient for me first.

That night, while organizing my luggage, an old photo slipped out of my medical record book.

It was me before I turned ten. Both of my eyes were bright.

I was standing beside Xander, smiling.

On the back of the photo were his crooked words: [I’ll protect Daisy from now on.]

I stared at it for a long time. Only when my wolf softly reminded me did I finally tear the photo apart and

throw it into the trash.

It wasn’t because I hated him. I just didn’t want to keep relying on old memories to prove that I had once been.

loved.

After school started, my days became filled with classes, training, scholarship applications, and long hours

in the library, leaving little time for anything else.

Little by little, I learned how to eat alone, go to the hospital alone, and handle everything by myself.

On the day of my surgery, Belly accompanied me to the hospital wing.

She bought me a sandwich and helped me pick up my medicine.

When the nurse glanced at my left eye a little too long, Belly immediately stepped in front of me.

“What are you looking at? Never seen a beautiful girl before?”

I burst out laughing. But after I finished laughing, my eyes felt slightly warm.

For the first time, I realized that I didn’t have to spend my life enduring pain or lowering my expectations, because I could also be the person someone chose to protect and cherish.

After I changed into a new prosthetic eye, I looked at myself in the mirror. My reflection looked pale, but my left eye no longer looked out of place.

It no longer caused constant pain from rubbing against the socket.

I took a photo, but didn’t send it to anyone.

I only saved it in my phone gallery.

The name of the photo was:

[A New Beginning.]
