When the Forgotten One-Eyed Luna Rises Chapter 04

After I changed my college application to the Northern Gamma Elite Academy, Mom called me.

Her voice was unusually gentle.

“Daisy, come home tonight. We’re holding an admission celebration for you and Skylar.”

I still went.

Not because I was looking forward to it. I went because the confirmation page had mentioned that some of my other documents and identification materials were still in their hands.

When I arrived at the celebration, Mom, Dad, Logan, Xander, and Skylar were all in the lounge.

A printed document was placed on the coffee table.

I picked it up and read it.

It stated that I had entered the attic by accident while suffering from a high fever and being mentally disoriented. Skylar was only young at the time and had failed to seek help immediately.

The incident was described as a complete accident.

At the end, there was a line:

[I, Daisy Dawson, Gamma of the Fullmoon Pack, have forgiven my younger sister, Skylar Dawson. I request that the Alpha, the academy, and the pack no longer pursue this matter.]

I stared at that sentence.

Suddenly, everything felt absurd.

Eight years ago, I had slammed on the attic door until my palms were covered in blood. No one opened it for me.

Eight years later, they finally agreed to open that door. But only because they wanted me to admit that I had walked inside by myself.

Mom pushed a pen toward me, “Royal Fang Academy requires a character review during the application process. Skylar can’t enter the academy carrying this stain.”

I didn’t take the pen.

Dad’s expression darkened, “We’ve already contacted the academy you applied to.”

Mom avoided my eyes, “We only explained the situation. We told them that because of your blindness, you have always held a grudge against Skylar.”

“We told them that the attic incident was something you remembered incorrectly because of your high fever, and that you deliberately blamed Skylar.”

“We told them that applying for a university far away in the Northern Territory was just your way of retaliating against her after losing control of your emotions.”

I stared at her. For a moment, even breathing felt difficult.

Logan sneered, “As long as we don’t cooperate, your application records will remain stuck.”

Dad placed the documents I needed beside him, “Without your identification documents and family confirmation, there’s no way you can register at school.”

“So, what’s your choice?”

I finally understood. They hadn’t asked me to come back to give me my documents. They had placed the last path in front of me, only to break it with their own hands.

Skylar sat beside Mom, her eyes red, “Daisy, I really just want a chance to start over.”

I turned to Xander, “You knew they contacted my academy too?”

His lips moved slightly, but no words came out.

After a long silence, he finally spoke in a hoarse voice, “Daisy, just sign it. After Skylar gets admitted, I’ll help you apply to another school.”

I suddenly laughed.

Eight years ago, they told me they had to comfort Skylar first before sending me to the pack hospital.

Eight years later, they told me they had to protect Skylar’s future first before returning mine. So my eye, my innocence, and my future could all wait.

In the end, I picked up the pen. Mom immediately looked relieved.

Skylar lowered her head, her shoulders trembling slightly, as if she had finally received the ending she wanted.

I signed my name on the statement.

After I finished, Dad pushed the documents and folder toward me, “It would have been fine if you had done this earlier.”

I said nothing. I picked up my things and turned to leave the celebration.

That night, I dragged my suitcase away from the pack. I left Evendell.

On the day Skylar started school, the entire family went to Royal Fang Academy.

She stood at the entrance in a white dress, her eyes slightly red, “If Daisy could come too, that would be great.”

Dad sneered, “Don’t worry about her.”

Logan added, “Without the family’s cooperation, let’s see how she gets into her school.”

Just then, Mom’s phone rang. The caller ID showed it was the Royal Fang Academy admissions office.

She smiled and answered.

But the next second, her face turned completely pale.

The voice on the other end was clear.

“Hello, the admission qualification review for Gamma Skylar Dawson has been denied.”

“The academy has decided to revoke this admission offer.”
