I Let Him Marry Me So I Could Expose Him At The Wedding Chapter 05

Over the next few days, Serena turned her “damsel in distress” act up to eleven.

After dinner, when we watched TV, she always waited until Miles came into the room before pouting about

the TV being too loud or “too violent”.

Then Miles would take the remote from my hand and switch it to whatever she wanted.

At night, when it was time to shower, she insisted she was scared and dragged me in with her.

Halfway through, she started calling loudly for Miles.

Then, claiming she was uncomfortable, she waited until Miles ordered me out of my own bathroom and let

her have the bathroom to herself.

When we went out to eat, she said she got carsick and took the passenger seat from me.

Then she spent the entire ride swaying around and chattering nonstop.

I recorded all of it.

Then I sent everything to the boyfriend Serena had broken up with without his consent.

On the day of the wedding, Serena showed up in the bridal suite exactly as expected.

This time, she did not bother hinting at whatever was going on between her and Miles.

She went straight for it.

“I slept with Miles,” she said. “Are you sure you still want to go through with this wedding?”

My expression did not change.

I even let out a soft laugh.

“Serena, I know you’re worried I’m nervous, so you’re trying to calm my nerves with a little dark humor and help me relax.”

I smiled at her. “That’s enough. Stop messing with me. I’ve been looking forward to today for a long time.”

Serena repeated herself several times, but when I still refused to believe her, she suddenly stomped her foot

like she was about to lose her mind.

I laughed even harder.

“I get it,” I said. “You’re worried I’m too relaxed before the ceremony, so you’re trying to create a little

tension for me. Serena, you’re so thoughtful.”

Serena gritted her teeth and muttered something under her breath.

I did not catch it.

When she looked up again, her face had gone calm.

“Elena,” she said, “what exactly would it take for you to believe me?”

I blinked innocently.

Then I pretended to think it over very seriously before offering a suggestion in a teasing tone.

“If you announce your relationship with Miles in front of everyone at the ceremony, then I’ll believe you.”

Later, as the wedding officiant began reading the vows, Miles noticed I was keeping a careful distance from

him.

He took my hand and pulled me closer.

“Nervous?” he asked. “Why is your hand so cold?”

No.

I was excited.

Because behind me, Serena, dressed in her blush-pink bridesmaid dress, had already taken one step forward.

She walked straight toward the officiant, snatched the microphone out of his hand, and cleared her throat.

Under the confused stares of every guest in the room, she said the words I had been waiting for.

“Miles loves me. This wedding only happened because he pitied Elena.”
