I Stopped My Kind Son From Being Framed Chapter 03

My husband, Arthur Miller, rushed in, completely out of breath.

The moment he entered, without even asking what happened, he stormed straight up to Ethan.

Arthur lashed out at Ethan.

A sharp crack echoed through the room as Arthur’s palm struck Ethan’s face, making him stumble backward..

“Dad?”

Ethan held his face, staring at him in utter disbelief.

“Don’t call me Dad! I don’t have a pathetic excuse of a son like you!”

Arthur pointed a finger right at Ethan’s nose, shouting at the top of his lungs.

“I sent you to college to get an education, not to do something this disgusting! You’ve ruined my reputation!”

Finishing his tirade, he turned to Vance, his spine instantly bending as a sycophantic smile plastered across his face.

“Dean Vance, I am so sorry. Truly sorry. This is my failure as a father.”

Vance’s expression softened slightly.

“Mr. Miller, at least you’re reasonable. This incident is severe. If this gets out and the authorities get involved, Ethan’s future is completely over.”

Hearing the word “authorities,” Arthur’s knees went weak.

He waved his hands frantically.

“No, no, please don’t call the authorities! I have money. I can handle this financially.”

Vance sighed.

“Considering Ethan’s academic standing, I don’t want to ruin him either. How about this.”

He looked over at Chloe.

“Chloe, you’ve suffered a great trauma. But a authorities report won’t be good for your privacy either. Let’s have Ethan apologize, and his family can provide financial compensation.”

Chloe raised her head, her eyes swimming with tears.

“Dean Vance, I don’t want money… it’s not about the money…”

She bit her lip, looking humiliated to the core.

“I just feel it’s unfair. Why should someone with such a vile character get to speak at the freshman convocation? Why does he get the full Presidential Fellowship?”

So that was her real target.

Hearing that money and school accolades could settle the matter, Arthur immediately glared at Ethan.

“What are you standing there for? Get over there and beg for her forgiveness! Forget the fellowship, and give her the speaking slot!”

He walked over, reaching out to force Ethan’s head down.

“Do it now! Fix this before it affects my business contracts!”

I stood up, grabbed Arthur’s wrist, and violently flung his hand away.

Arthur glared at me. “What do you think you’re doing!”

I looked coldly at this cowardly, selfish man.

“What am I doing?”

“My son did nothing wrong. Why should he apologize? Why should he give up his fellowship?”

“Valerie, have you lost your mind!”

Arthur hissed in a low, furious roar.

“Do you want your son in prison? Do you want my business partners laughing behind my back?”

I ignored him.

I walked up to Chloe and looked down at her.

“Chloe Jenkins, are you absolutely sure it was my son, Ethan Miller, who harassed you in the library’s north fire escape?”

Chloe shrank back, her eyes darting away.

“Yes…”

“What exact time?” I pressed, stepping closer.

“Around… around one-thirty this afternoon…”

“What was he wearing?”

“A… a white T-shirt and black sweatpants.”

Her description was flawless.

“Was anyone else in the stairwell?”

“No… nobody uses that fire escape, and the security camera there is broken…”

The moment the words left her mouth, she seemed to realize she had said too much. She quickly clapped a hand over her mouth and began sobbing again.

“Ma’am, please stop interrogating me… I’m so scared…”

Vance slammed his fist on the desk and stood up.

“Valerie Miller! That’s enough! You are actively harassing the victim!”

He pointed straight at the door.

“My decision stands. Ethan must issue a public apology, forfeit all honors and fellowships, and receive an official disciplinary suspension! If you don’t accept this, I’m escalating this to the board for immediate expulsion!”

Arthur panicked completely, grabbing my arm to pull me back.

“Valerie, shut your mouth! Dean Vance is offering us a way out. What more do you want!”

I looked at Vance’s self-righteous face.

“Dean Vance, since the camera is broken, how can you convict my son based solely on her word?”

“Because who would lie about something like this!”

Vance replied, sounding noble.

“Women are inherently vulnerable in these situations! Look at her. Why would she make this up?”

I nodded slowly, pulling out my phone.

“Fine. Since the university refuses to find the truth, we’ll let someone who actually can handle it step in.”

I tapped three digits into the screen.

And hit dial.

“Yes, 911? I need to report a serious incident.”
