Reborn to Watch Him Regret Choosing My Twin Chapter 10

A tall figure strode through the door. His eyes found me instantly. He walked over, glanced at the two people beside me.

“Excuse me. I have a condition–if I’m more than two feet away from Clara, I break out in full–body seizures.”

Mira’s face went black. She elbowed Sterling. He didn’t move. Legs spread, leaning back into the sofa, he tilted his head and stared Grey down.

Under all those eyes, Mira got humiliated. She couldn’t hide her irritation. “Babe, let’s move over there. Don’t get in the way of their bonding time.”

Sterling pulled his gaze back. As he stood, he shot me a warning look.

I ignored it completely.

The empty space was big enough for two more people.

Grey acted like he didn’t see it. He sat pressed right against me. It looked like our clothes were touching, but his thigh was still a few careful millimeters from mine.

A cold, aloof billionaire was the center of attention in any room. Real life or fiction. Tonight was no

exception.

Especially when the ice king was desperately angling for cuddles. It was almost painful to watch. Someone started heckling. “Is something going on here?”

Normally, he never spoke more than a sentence to our classmates. Tonight, he was suddenly patient. “It’s all up to Clara. If she says yes, then yes. If she says no, it means I still have work to do.”

The teasing got louder.

From the corner, a stare stayed fixed on me. Getting colder by the second.

Mira tugged his sleeve.

“Sterling. Truth or dare. You in?”

He pulled his gaze from the two figures in the center of the circle. He caught on. The adult party games.

Grown–up gatherings always got wild. It usually circled back to sex. A chance for singles to flirt and couples

to add fuel.

The image of those two sitting close together wouldn’t leave his head. He agreed without thinking.

Mira smiled, triumphant, and shot a look at the girl across from her

First round. The bottle landed un Mira. The girl spoke immediately.

“Pay up, Mira. After three years of marriage, your skills must’ve improved. Pick a guy. One–minute

make–out session.”

Mira’s face went red as a boiled lobster. But there was no surprise in her eyes. She ducked her head and pulled Sterling’s sleeve twice.

Sterling’s mouth was a tight line. His gaze landed on two heads leaning close, whispering, laughing now and

then.

He reached out, grabbed the back of Mira’s head, and kissed her.

The room exploded with hoots and catcalls.

I glanced over at the noise. Across the space, Sterling’s eyes met mine. He was kissing his wife, but his stare

was pure wolf. Ready to tear my throat out.

A dry voice murmured in my ear.

“Kissing with his eyes open. Dude’s got a whole meal in front of him and he’s still staring at the menu.

Trash.”

I turned toward my shoulder. My lips grazed his cheek. A ghost of something soft.

The commotion across the room died down.

Sterling pulled back. Half his face was hidden. Only the red rims of his eyes showed.

“Quit stalling. Keep it spinning!”

The bottle spun again.

This time, it stopped in front of me.

Mira smiled.

“My husband. Or Grey Grant. Pick one. Strip off your clothes and beg him for a jacket.”

The words hit like a shockwave.

Someone squealed. The person next to her smacked her on the head.

“You’re cheering for this? It’s practically incest!”

Someone tried to smooth it over.

“Come on, it’s just a game. Mira already took her punishment. Clara’s not going to chicken out, is she?”

I looked at the speaker. Same girl from before.

“Forget it.”

“You seem pretty comfortable with this.”

Sterling and Grey spoke at the same time.

At Grey’s words, the girl’s face stiffened.

“Such nasty words from someone who looks so cold. Dirty mind.”

Grey crossed his legs, utterly unbothered.

“I save polite for people who deserve it.”

“You!”

I cut her off and picked up the glass in front of me.

“I forfeit. I’ll drink.”

The anger on her face vanished. She sat back, smiling.

“One glass won’t cut it. Ten, minimum.”

Grey moved to take over. She sneered.

“Can’t take the penalty. Can’t take the drinks either?”

I pressed his hand down and gave him a look.

“It’s fine. I can hold my liquor.”

Ten glasses. I forced them down.

I set the last one on the table. My vision was doubling. I pressed my hand to my head.

“I’m heading out. You guys have fun.”

Grey stood and steadied me.

“Should I get you something for the hangover?”

I waved it off. “No. I just need to sleep it off. Take me home.”

He helped me toward the door. Passing Sterling, I saw his hand twitch on his thigh. He didn’t get up.

On the drive back, Sterling’s eyes cut to the passenger seat. His voice was sheathed in ice. “Mira Nash. You did that on purpose.”

The false cheer in Mira’s eyes bled out. She stared out the window. “What, your heart hurts?” 44

“We’ve been over for a long time. You don’t have to keep clinging.”

That single line was a bomb. It shattered every scrap of sanity Mira had been clinging to for two days. She spun around and screamed

“I’m clinging? Or are you the one who can’t let go!”

“Don’t think I don’t know. At the office, you wear your wedding ring for her. At night, you come home and

switch to mine.”

The car screeched to a halt. Tires shrieked against asphalt.

Mira clutched her reddened forehead, tears welling, chin high. “What, you didn’t think I’d find out?”

“Your secretary. The receptionist. The directors. All of them. My eyes and ears.”

Sterling turned. His gaze leaked cold before anything else. Then he remembered they were husband and wife

and reined it in.

“Mira. You chose all of this yourself. Didn’t you?”

“You made your choice. Now live with it. I’ve done a bad job. But Clara–she’s never crossed a single line.”

Mira heard his confession. She laughed through her tears. Bitter and unwilling. “You really think she’s let you go too?”

His eyes went sharp. “What did you do?”

“I put something in those ten drinks. The same thing I’used back then.”
