He Covered for His Fake Innocent Girl, I Sent Both to Prison Chapter 08

He Covered for His Fake Innocent Girl, I Sent Both to Prison Chapter 08

His voice went weak and hollow, but nobody was listening to him anymore.

Candy was dragged to her feet. Her face was a sickly, chalky white, and her fingers clawed desperately at the hospital sheets.

“It wasn’t me… I didn’t do anything… you guys have the wrong person…”

But the heavy iron cuffs were already locked tight around her wrists. They marched her straight out

of the room.

Marcus stood frozen in the center of the ward. A few seconds passed before his brain finally caught up, and he stumbled blindly down the corridor after them.

At the precinct, the second the door flew open, Marcus froze dead in his tracks.

He stood there, completely pinned to the floor.

The guy sitting across the interrogation room raised his head, his lips twisting into a cold, mocking

sneer.

It was Chad Harrington-the exact same wealthy frat boy Marcus had accused of “harassing and stalking Candy”.

Marcus’s expression warped instantly. In the next heartbeat, he charged forward, grabbing Chad by

the collar.

“You?!” he roared. “You actually have the nerve to show your face here?! Are you trying to assault her again?!”

He barked out his furious questions, then suddenly whipped his head around to glare at me, eyes twisting into a dark, venomous glare.

his

“So this is what’s going on!” he snarled. “The two of you are in on this together! You’re teaming up to back her into a corner!”

“Valerie, you’ve completely lost your goddamn mind! I will never allow you to destroy her like

this!”

The words had barely left his mouth when-

Crack!

A heavy fist slammed violently straight into his face.

Marcus went flying, crashing hard onto the floor.

Chad shook out his hand, looking down at Marcus with a clinical scoff. “You are a special kind of

stupid, you know that?”

“I told you the last time we crossed paths-I wouldn’t touch her with a ten-foot pole.”

He stared down at Marcus, letting out a sharp chuckle. “Her entire pathetic little act? Constantly throwing herself at guys, playing the fragile victim, sweet-talking people? It’s cheap as hell.”

“Only a pathetic idiot like you would actually fall for it.”

Marcus sat on the cold floor, his entire face blank and dazed, as if his brain couldn’t process the

words.

Chad pressed on, his voice dripping with disdain. “She literally drugged my drink at a college party. The second I woke up and realized what happened, I kicked the bitch out of my place.”

“I warned her that if she ever tried to pull another stunt, I’d ruin her.”

“But she wouldn’t let it go. On the day of the commencement ceremony, she cornered me with a positive pregnancy test, trying to blackmail me into giving her a ring.”

“She threatened to scream assault and call the cops if I didn’t comply.”

He let out a sharp, mocking laugh. “As if she’s worth the trouble. I have concrete evidence of her drugging me. If she actually had the balls to call the police, the only one wearing handcuffs today

would be her.”

Marcus’s breathing instantly turned erratic and shallow.

Chad cast a passing glance at him. “Once she realized I wasn’t a mark she could bleed dry, she shifted her target entirely to you.”

“She knew you’d always play the white knight. All she had to do was squeeze out a few tears, and you bought the whole performance hook, line, and sinker.”

“You actually thought you were some kind of savior, didn’t you?” He laughed. “I can’t believe you actually took the bait.”

Marcus’s face turned a horrific, apocalyptic shade of white, every bit of life completely drained out

of him.

“No… that’s impossible…” he stammered, his body violently shaking. “She’s not that kind of

person… She wouldn’t lie to me…”

Standing by the door, I looked down at his pathetic state and let out a cold, clinical scoff.

“Still don’t believe it?”

I walked over, pulled a document straight out of my bag, and hurled it right into his face.

The white sheets scattered through the air, fluttering down around him on the floor. The top page

stared back at him, bold and crystal clear.

It was a DNA paternity test report.

I stared down at the crown of his head, my voice flat and entirely unbothered. “Didn’t you proudly claim to everyone that the baby in her stomach was yours?”

With trembling hands, Marcus picked up the scattered paper from the floor. The second his eyes

solid. landed on the conclusive results line, his entire body locked up

FATHER]

His pupils dilated in sheer horror, his breath catching entirely in his throat.

In the next heartbeat, the paper slipped from his limp fingers and drifted back to the floor. He sat there, staring blankly ahead like a complete shell.

Across the room, Candy was forced down into an interrogation chair, completely losing her mind as

she broke apart.

She thrashed violently against her restraints, wailing hysterically, “Professor Logan! You have to

save me!”

“Please help me smooth this over! Pay them whatever they want! I promise I will cut all ties with Chad! I’ll never see him again!”

Her voice shook with a frantic, desperate whine. “I’ll be good from now on! I’ll only live with you! I’ll listen to every single thing you say!”

Marcus stood up slowly, his throat bobbing as he swallowed hard. He looked down at her, his voice

entirely hoarse and scraped empty.

“Then answer me one thing.”

“The very first time we slept together… you cried and swore you’d never let another man touch you before me. You acted so trembling, so scared… Was that all an act?”

Candy froze, her theatrical tears drying instantly as her eyes darted around in a frantic panic.

“I… that was…” she stammered, her voice shrinking into a barely audible whisper. “I just read a few online guides on how to fake being an innocent virgin… I needed you to believe I was pure…”

The air in the room instantly turned dead and suffocatingly still.

Every single drop of color drained from Marcus’s face until he looked physically dead. He closed his eyes, his shoulders slumping as if everything keeping him upright had just been completely sucked

out of him.

“So…” he murmured. “You’ve been playing me for a fool this entire time.”

Panic consuming her entirely, Candy lunged forward as far as the chair allowed, her voice splitting into a frantic shriek. “I wasn’t trying to trick you! I was just terrified you’d leave me!”

“I really did love you back then!”

“Just bail me out this one time! I swear I’ll spend the rest of my life only being yours!”

Marcus opened his eyes, the absolute warmth completely dead, leaving them frozen over with an unyielding chill.

“I’m not doing a damn thing,” he said, his voice dropping into a flat, dangerous whisper.

Candy stiffened. In the very next second, the fragile act vanished completely, her expression contorting into pure, unbridled malice.

“Marcus Logan, drop the goddamn self-righteous act!” she shrieked, completely ripping off the mask. “Who the hell do you think you are?!”
