I Bit My Best Friend Until The System Spoiled Me Chapter 11

I Bit My Best Friend Until The System Spoiled Me Chapter 11

The second I stepped through my front door, Ethan trailed right in behind me.

“Chloe, everything the doctor said today-I wrote it all down.”

His voice was slightly raspy, his fingers curling tightly around the notebook as his gaze locked onto

me, practically glued to my skin.

“He said you can’t just quit cold turkey right away; it’s bad for you both physically and mentally. saw the marks on your arm where you’ve been chewing on yourself. You used to always bite me..

He sat at the edge of my bed and gently tugged down his collar, exposing his pale neck, shoulder,

and collarbone.

A faint, rosy flush seemed to coat his cold-white skin, and his Adam’s apple bobbed. Maybe it was just my imagination, but since it had been a while since I last bit him, his lean muscle looked noticeably more defined.

Ethan’s breathing was incredibly heavy. Tracking my footsteps, he slowly closed his eyes, eyelashes fluttering frantically.

In the quiet bedroom, the crisp scent of cedar on Ethan seemed to invade my every breath.

As if utterly under a spell, my heart hammered like a war drum as I slowly moved to his side and

lowered my head.

My breath felt scorching hot against his skin. As it fanned across the side of Ethan’s neck, I clearly heard the distinct, sharp swallow of his throat.

His breathing grew ragged, and looking down, I could see the tiny goosebumps rising at the back of

Ethan’s neck.

Then, the system’s voice violently shattered the moment.

[Oh my God, what are you doing?! The Female Lead arrives tomorrow, and you’re still trying to

defile the Male Lead’s flesh?!]

[I will literally strangle you myself!]

[No, I won’t even have to. Once the Lead couple gets together and the Male Lead looks back on how you violated him, he’ll be the first one to slaughter you.]

Suddenly, the fabric was yanked back up, covering his skin. Ethan opened his eyes, staring at me in

utter bewilderment, while I let out a couple of deeply awkward, forced laughs.

“Don’t be like this, Ethan.”

“I’m seriously cured. I don’t need to bite you anymore, so you should head home.”

The white light from the ceiling fixture washed over Ethan’s face. In an instant, every drop of color drained from his skin, leaving him deathly pale, like paper.

“You still… don’t need me?”

After I practically kicked Ethan out, the system was thoroughly satisfied, but my mood only tanked

further.

Monday arrived right on schedule, yet after an entire morning of classes, there wasn’t a single

trace of the New Girl.

The system wouldn’t stop buzzing in my head, alternating between descriptive rants about the Female Lead’s gorgeous looks and teasing future plotlines about the main couple.

[You have no idea. The Male Lead looks all gentle and proper, but in reality, he totally dominates

her in bed!]

A ball of pure frustration flared up in my chest, and I couldn’t help but knit my brows.

I’m still a high schooler. Why the hell are you lecturing me about their future married life right

now?

The system was startled by my sudden aggression, and Lucas, sitting right next to me, was equally

taken aback by my stormy expression.

He hadn’t spoken a single word to me since last week, but out of some sudden burst of charity, he glanced over at me.

Noticing that Ethan wasn’t in the classroom, Lucas aggressively rolled up his sleeve and thrust his bare arm right in front of my face.

“Hey, Chloe. Is your condition flaring up again? That therapist you saw was completely useless, wasn’t he?”

“Stop holding it in. Just bite me.”

“While your terrifying, bloodthirsty childhood friend isn’t around, I’ll take one for the team…”

I had no idea why he was bringing Ethan into this. Just as I was about to ask, my eyes traveled down to his bare arm.

“Lucas… why do you have so much hair on your arms? You look like an ape…”

I slowly lowered my head, staring at his skin in pure curiosity, causing Lucas to roll his eyes into

the back of his head.

“Are you going to bite or what? What guy doesn’t have body hair?”

Ethan doesn’t. Ethan’s skin was always flawlessly clean, stark white, and smelled incredibly good..

Right in the middle of my daze, I lifted my eyes, only to meet the deathly pale face of Ethan standing

right at the classroom door.

Lucas tracked my gaze, turning his head slowly. In the next fraction of a second, he violently yanked his arm back and tucked it out of sight.

The entire day passed, and the New Girl never showed up.

The system’s hyped-up attitude slowly withered into an anxious slump, until it finally started crying, muttering something about needing to contact the primary plot director to find out what the

hell went wrong.

With my head finally quiet, my steps felt a lot lighter on the walk home. Glancing back, however, I realized Ethan’s gaze was quietly fixed onto me, completely glued to my back.

Amused, I slowed my pace to match his.

“Ethan, you’ve been in an incredibly foul mood the past few days, haven’t you?”

He didn’t answer right away, his dark, bottomless eyes tracking my face with a strange, vacant lack

of focus.

“You seem to be in a very good mood, Chloe.”

Well, that was certainly true.
