After Sharing Half My Husband with His Mistress Chapter 07

After Sharing Half My Husband with His Mistress Chapter 07

“Iris, wait!”

Bruce shoved past the revolving glass doors of Kensington headquarters. He clutched a massive bouquet of white lilies and a familiar velvet box.

I stopped near the security desk. “Marcus, keep him back.”

Marcus stepped forward, planting a massive hand firmly against Bruce’s chest.

“I just need five minutes,” Bruce pleaded. His eyes were bloodshot, his tie hanging crookedly. “I went to your father’s estate this morning. I begged him to let me see you.”

“My father doesn’t tolerate trash on his lawn,” I replied.

Bruce held up the velvet box. “It’s the vintage Cartier. The one you asked for on our anniversary.”

“I asked for that two years ago.” I didn’t even glance at the jewelry. “Give it to Judy. I’m sure it will match her maternity wear.”

“I cut her off!” Bruce shouted, his voice cracking wildly. “I froze the accounts. Iris, I swear to God, I am done with her. Come home.”

“You don’t have a home anymore, Bruce. You have a sinking ship.”

I turned my back on him and walked toward the private elevators.

“Evan is destroying my company!” Bruce screamed at my retreating figure. “Tell him to stop!”

I let the elevator doors slide shut, cutting off his frantic begging.

Twenty minutes later, I walked into Evan’s penthouse office. He sat behind a massive glass desk, tossing a silver pen onto a stack of legal documents.

“Monroe’s stock dropped another twelve percent this morning,” Evan announced.

I took the leather chair opposite him. “Did you pull the logistics contract?”

“Yes. And I called the remaining investors.” Evan leaned back, his eyes dark and satisfied. “I told them any family that bails out Monroe Corporation will be permanently blacklisted by Montgomery Enterprises.”

“You severed his supply chain and his funding in one morning.”

“He declared war the minute he laid hands on my woman,” Evan stated flatly. “I am just finishing it.”

I picked up my coffee cup. “Will the board remove him?”

“They are drafting the termination papers right now,” Evan confirmed. “But that isn’t the best part of today.”

Evan tapped the screen of his tablet and pushed it across the glass desk.

“Press play,” he ordered.

I tapped the screen. A high-definition video immediately started playing.

Judy Evans sat on the deck of a luxury yacht, wearing a tiny designer bikini. She laughed brightly, feeding strawberries to a young man with a sharp jawline.

“Is that Julian Thorne?” I asked, my eyebrows rising.

“The shipping heir,” Evan nodded. “Judy realized Bruce’s wallet was empty. She didn’t waste a single day shifting her target.”

“Who filmed this?”

“My private investigators. I released it to the press an hour ago.”

I scrolled down the page. The internet was exploding. The top trending hashtag read: *#GreenTeaGrifter*. Millions of comments ripped Judy apart, exposing her entire timeline of wealthy marks.

“There is more,” Evan murmured. “Swipe left.”

The next video was shaky cell phone footage taken outside a high-end medical clinic. Mia Monroe, Bruce’s mother, stood on the sidewalk. Her designer purse swung wildly as she screamed at Judy.

“You ungrateful parasite!” Mia shrieked on the video, pointing a trembling finger. “My son ruined his marriage for you! He gave you everything!”

Judy adjusted her oversized sunglasses. She didn’t flinch. She didn’t cry.

“Your son isn’t my only option, Mrs. Monroe,” Judy sneered. “He was just the easiest to fool.”

Mia gasped, clutching her chest as if she had been physically stabbed.

I burst out laughing.

The sound echoed sharply in Evan’s quiet office. I expected to feel pity or anger, but genuine, unfiltered amusement bubbled up from my chest.

“She told you to be tolerant,” Evan noted, watching my reaction closely.

“Mia told me men having multiple women was normal,” I said, wiping a tear of mirth from my eye. “Let’s see how tolerant she is when her grandchild belongs to a shipping heir.”

My phone buzzed on the desk. The caller ID displayed a blocked number.

I answered it, putting the call on speaker.

“Iris.”

Bruce’s voice sounded entirely hollow. A fierce wind whipped through the microphone, drowning out the city traffic below.

“Where are you, Bruce?” I asked.

“The roof of the Monroe building,” he whispered.

Evan stood up immediately, his jaw locking tight. He walked around the desk and stood right beside my chair.

“Step away from the edge,” I commanded.

“The board locked me out of my own office,” Bruce said, completely ignoring my order. “They stripped my title. My mother is in the hospital with heart palpitations.”

“You did this to yourself.”

“I saw the video,” Bruce choked out. A dry, broken sob echoed through the speaker. “Judy laughed at my mother. She was on Julian’s boat. The baby isn’t even mine, is it?”

“Evan gave you the files days ago. You chose to be blind.”

“I lost my company. I lost my family.” Bruce’s breathing turned erratic. “I have absolutely nothing left.”

“You have the consequences of your actions,” I said.

“If I jump,” Bruce asked, his voice dropping to a terrifyingly calm whisper, “will you finally forgive me?”

Evan reached down and slammed his finger against the end call button. The line went dead instantly.

I stared up at Evan. “You hung up on him.”

“He isn’t going to jump,” Evan stated, his tone dripping with absolute disgust. “He is a coward looking for an audience.”

“What if you are wrong?”

Before Evan could answer, Marcus threw the office doors open. The security chief looked completely out of breath.

“Ms. Kensington,” Marcus panted. “Turn on the news.”

Evan grabbed the remote and flicked on the wall monitor. The local news anchor appeared, her face completely pale.

“Breaking news from the financial district,” the anchor announced.

“Police are swarming the Monroe Corporation headquarters after a body was found on the pavement.”

My blood turned to ice.
