Without a second thought, Zayden headed for the door, only for Zara to block his path.

“Zayden, where are you going? Did you finally hear something about Yasmin? Let me come with you…”

“Move.”

His icy voice cut through the room as he shoved her hand away.

The alley behind the liquor store was shrouded in darkness. Completely unguarded, Zayden walked straight to the meeting spot. The moment he saw the woman’s face, he froze.

It was Jocelyn Vale, the prison gang leader from three years ago.

“Alpha Zayden. Long time no see.”

Jocelyn smirked as she exhaled a cloud of smoke.

“Your precious Zara promised me a hundred thousand dollars to keep my mouth shut and lie that Yasmin broke her hand by accident. Funny thing is, I never saw a single cent.”

Her smile widened.

“If she’s not paying, I have no reason to protect her anymore. Five million, and I’ll tell you everything that really happened.”

Zayden’s expression darkened.

“What makes you think I’d believe you?”

Jocelyn let out a mocking laugh.

“The scar on Yasmin’s wrist? We gave her that. Her right hand? We destroyed it ourselves. Tell me, have you ever seen someone willingly accuse themselves of something like that?”

The veins on Zayden’s forehead bulged.

“Who ordered you to do it?”

“Who else?” she sneered. “Five million.”

He forced himself to stay calm.

“Fine. Five million.”

Jocelyn grinned.

“Every month, Zara Lennox paid us a hundred thousand dollars to ‘take good care’ of Yasmin. She ordered

us to ruin her hand, force her to eat leftovers, and make every day of her life a living hell.”

She paused before adding with a laugh,

“Oh, and she bribed the prison guards too. She said as long as Yasmin stayed alive, she’d always be in her

way.”

Zayden staggered back, his face drained of all color.

So it had all been true.

For three years, his own sister had suffered through hell while he believed every lie.

“You got your answers.”

Jocelyn held out her hand.

“My five million. Otherwise, I’ll release every video I have.”

The next second, she met Zayden’s bloodshot eyes.

“You dared lay a hand on my sister.”

His voice was frighteningly calm.

“Every last one of you deserves to rot.”

Hidden Betas and warriors immediately emerged from the shadows, restraining Jocelyn.

“W… What are you doing, Alpha Zayden?!”

“Take her back to werewolf prison,” he ordered coldly. “Anyone who hurt Yasmin back then will answer for it. Not a single one walks free.”

Zayden raced back to the hotel like a man possessed.

The moment he pushed the door open, someone grabbed his arm.

Zara looked at him with tearful eyes.

“Zayden, you’re back. Did Yasmin hide again just to make you look for her? She’s doing this on purpose…”

“The witness statements were fake.”

His hoarse voice stopped her cold.

“You bribed the people inside werewolf prison, didn’t you?”

A flicker of panic flashed across Zara’s face.

“Zayden, how could you doubt me? I questioned every one of them myself. How could they be lying? Did Yasmin say something to you?”

“You still won’t admit it?”

In the next instant, his hand clamped around her throat, slamming her against the wall with enough force

to nearly choke the life out of her.

Zara’s face quickly turned crimson as she clawed desperately at his hand.

“Z… Zayden… please… let go…

“You ordered them to crush her hand!”

His roar shook the room.

“She coughed up blood! She had terminal stomach cancer! She was dying! And you stole the last grave she had chosen for herself just to bury your dog! Zara… how could you?”

“I… I don’t know what you’re talking about…”

She instinctively tried to lie again, but the moment she met the fury burning in his eyes, the words died in

her throat.

He caught the guilt flashing across her face.

“How could you?”

With a furious punch, he sent her collapsing to the floor.

Her sobs grew weaker and weaker.

Just then, the hotel room door burst open.

Lucian rushed inside, “What are you doing?”

His face darkened as he strode forward.

“Let her go.”
