A CEO With An Impossible Libido Chapter 01

A CEO With An Impossible Libido Chapter 01

I had almost no sex drive, yet I married a CEO with an impossible libido.

The moment I turned him down again, I saw the floating reader comments.

[They’ve been married for three years, and she has never once let the male lead enjoy himself properly.]

[The male lead went to take another cold shower. If he’d married the real heroine with Succubus Syndrome, I can’t even imagine how happy his sex life would be.]

[The real heroine already got hired as his executive secretary. She starts tomorrow. The male lead’s good days are coming.]

[The male lead met with a divorce attorney today. He wants this marriage over as soon as possible, and she’s still working in the study. I’m dead.]

I set down the file in my hand, got up, and knocked on the bathroom door.

The sound of running water stopped at once. Julian Hartwell’s voice was hoarse.

“What is it?”

Nervous but still trying to sound polite, I asked, “I’m done with work. Can I… shower with you?”

The words had barely left my mouth.

The bathroom went quiet for a few seconds.

I thought that silence was Julian’s refusal.

Just as I was about to turn away, the bathroom door opened a crack.

Julian reached out through the gap and pulled me inside.

Before I could react, my back was pressed against the bathroom door.

Julian’s handsome face was inches from mine.

“Are you serious?” His narrow eyes moved over me as if he were sizing up prey.

My gaze landed directly on his firm chest.

Below that were hard, sharply defined abs.

Drops of water slid down the grooves of his muscles and disappeared beneath the towel tied around his waist.

The second I remembered how intense he could be, I nearly lost my nerve.

I stammered, “If you’re done, you can go out first…”

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Julian’s mouth curve almost imperceptibly.

His hand settled on my waist, and heat darkened his gaze.

“I can help you.”

The comments floated past.

[She’s playing hard to get again.]

[The male lead is already at his limit.]

[She practically walked right into his arms. That’s not just help. That’s gasoline on fire.]

[As if the male lead would let her leave.]

[LOL. I doubt she’ll have the strength to walk out of that bathroom on her own tonight.]

[Being carried out by the male lead wouldn’t be bad either.]

[They can keep going while he carries her…]

[She won’t pass out like last time, will she?]

[The male lead is definitely capable of that.]

I shivered.

I had taken the initiative with Julian before.

It was on our first wedding anniversary.

I happened to have the day off.

On a whim, I prepared a candlelit dinner for him.

I even scattered rose petals in the bathtub.

That night, Julian was almost overwhelming in his passion.

I passed out afterward.

I only wanted a glass of water, but Julian could drown me in an entire ocean.

After that, I never dared to be too proactive with him again.

Now that the comments had reminded me, I was afraid of repeating history.

But the comments said Julian had met with a divorce attorney today.

He wanted to divorce me as soon as possible.

My marriage to Julian had begun as a contract marriage.

My father had done the Hartwell family a tremendous favor, one that helped lay the foundation for their most important business division.

At first, Julian hadn’t wanted his parents interfering in his marriage.

I heard that after his father died, he had considered backing out of the engagement.

His grandfather stepped in and made sure the engagement stayed intact.

The Hartwell family belonged to the highest tier of old money. My family was only comfortably middle-class.

Marrying into the Hartwell family was, honestly, me marrying up.

Luckily, Julian had treated me very well after the wedding.

It was probably his way of repaying that debt of gratitude.

I was a botanist.

To make it easier for me to observe plant growth patterns, Julian made one grand gesture after our wedding and gave me an entire mountain preserve: Sterling Mountain Preserve.

The preserve was full of rare plants, along with fields dedicated to medicinal herbs.

Julian spent a fortune building a research lab there for me.

He also built a cabin that belonged only to me: Willow Creek Cabin.

As Mrs. Hartwell, I didn’t have to worry about ordinary day-to-day problems.

I could devote myself completely to the botanical research I loved.

So I didn’t want to divorce him.

If we divorced, he would probably take back that preserve.

Where else could I find a husband who could casually give me an entire nature preserve?

Besides, Julian was young and handsome.

His face and body were both top-tier.

If my future child had a father that impressive, they would start life with every advantage.

Over the past three years, I really had neglected him.

If the reason he wanted to divorce me was our incompatible sex life…

Then maybe I could try to be a little more proactive.
