He Threatened My Parents For His Assistant, Not Knowing She Was His Sister Chapter 08

Ethan hit her again. Blood and teeth sprayed across the floor.

“Mistake? I showed you her picture a hundred times. Do you really think I believe that?”

Scarlett’s eyes went wild. She grabbed his hair and yanked.

“Believe what you want! You signed the waiver! It’s over! Touch me again and I’ll call the cops!”

I turned to the judge, sick of both of them.

“Your Honor. I have evidence that Ethan fabricated the affair rumors.

“Every photo was doctored. Every article was planted by him to force me to leave with nothing.”

The judge looked over the files. His expression hardened.

Ethan dropped Scarlett and stepped forward.

“Claire. I’m sorry. Scarlett fooled me. Please

I laughed.

“Ethan. If the dead girl had been my sister, would you be sorry?”

He froze.

“Divorcing me–what do you gain? You’re nothing without me.”

I smiled.

“We’ll see who loses everything.”

I turned to the judge.

“Your Honor. The evidence is complete. Please deliver your verdict.”

The judge’s gavel slammed down.

“Ethan Vance spread false accusations against his wife, causing severe damage to her reputation.

He also kidnapped and threatened her parents to coerce her into dropping legal proceedings. This court finds him culpable. The marriage is dissolved. Assets are divided equally-fifty percent to each party.”

The crowd cheered

Ethan blocked my path.

“Fifty percent? I built this empire. You don’t deserve a dime. I’ll appeal. I’ll take this to the supremie

court if I have to.”

I tilted my head.

“Ethan. Without my family, you never made it past your uncle.”

He grabbed my arm.

“If you want out, walk away with nothing. Or I will appeal until you’re buried in legal fees.”

I shrugged.

“Appeal all you want. But your company won’t survive that long.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

His phone rang.

“Mr. Vance! Our biggest partner just terminated our contract. Every other partner is pulling out

too.”

Ethan staggered.

Another call.

“Mr. Vance! Banks are calling in our loans. The liquidity crisis is real.”

A third call.

“Mr. Vance! Your uncle filed a whistleblower complaint. Tax authorities are downstairs.”

The phone hit the floor. Ethan collapsed.

“Gone. It’s all gone.”

I looked down at him.

“Enjoy the divorce gift, Ethan.”

I walked out.

And I never looked back.
