The Day I Left He Proposed But I No Longer Wanted Marriage Chapter 11

I thought once I’d said my piece, he’d let go.

But I underestimated his obsession.

The Harrison Group was our company’s biggest partner at the moment.

And as the project lead, I had to face his harassment every single day.

Yet I couldn’t just shut him down cold without mercy the way I had before.

Because my entire team stood behind me—I couldn’t smash everyone’s throat for my own sake.

Friday afternoon, I took an urgent supplemental agreement and went to Harrison headquarters to deliver the documents.

My original plan was to hand the papers to the secretary and leave immediately.

I never expected to run straight into two people at the top floor elevator.

One was Claire, her face brimming with arrogance.

The other was Mrs. Harrison, her gaze sharp as a blade.

The instant Claire saw me, her expression darkened instantly.

She rushed forward several steps and blocked my path.

“Aria? What are you doing here?”

“Didn’t you say you’d already broken up with Evan? What—now you want to get back together?”

“Or do you feel like you didn’t squeeze enough out of him the first time, and now you’ve come crawling back with your eyes wide open!”

Her words were barbed, every one of them, so sharp they grated painfully on the ears.

Employees passing by the elevator kept stealing glances, sneaking looks in our direction.

I looked past her, toward Mrs. Harrison standing behind.

Mrs. Harrison remained as haughty as ever, eyeing me the way one appraises a piece of merchandise.

I took half a step back and gave her a slight, polite, yet distant bow.

“Good afternoon, Mrs. Harrison.”

“I’m here to deliver a supplemental agreement from Summit Corp to Mr. Harrison. I’ll be gone the moment I drop it off.”

With that, I set the documents down neatly on the front desk.

“Please pass these along to Mr. Harrison. Thank you.”

“Aria! What kind of attitude is that? Have you no manners at all!”

Behind me, Claire was stomping her feet in fury.

“Mrs. Harrison! Look at her! She doesn’t put you in her eyes at all!”

Mrs. Harrison cast a flat, indifferent glance at Claire.

“Enough. Stop your shouting.”

“I heard she joined Summit Corp, and in just a few short months she’s already made it to the general manager position.”

“She truly is someone with real talent. What a pity.”
