I Took a Late Night Driving Job and Found My Ex Waiting Chapter 11

Nathan stared at the unconscious woman in the bed, his fist pressed against the glass.

“Did I make the wrong call?”

Olivia blinked. “What?”

“Maybe I shouldn’t have made her go through this. Maybe I should’ve let her leave with dignity…”

Olivia was quiet. Nathan’s fist dropped to his side. “I don’t know what to do. I can’t even be beside her now. And all this pain—I forced her into it.”

Even Olivia, who always had a plan, sighed. “Are we being selfish?”

Nathan laughed bitterly. “Liv, if she doesn’t make it… the company, and Rebecca, will be in your hands. Take care of her for me.”

“What are you talking about?” Olivia frowned.

Nathan stared blankly ahead. “I won’t be here either. She was alone for five years. I can’t let her be alone down there.”

“You—” Olivia stared. She wanted to say no, that wasn’t her job. But she looked at the erratic vitals on the monitor and swallowed all her words.

She knew her best friend didn’t have much time left. And when that time came, Nathan would follow, whether she agreed or not.

“I understand,” she said finally. For the first time, she felt the full weight of helplessness.

The doctor rushed toward them with urgent steps. Both of them tensed.

“A marrow match has been found. Prepare for surgery.”

“What?!”
