I Froze for 4 Hours Outside While He Threw a Party with Her Chapter 07

Zack Morris was the boss’s younger brother. He didn’t hold a position in the company.

It was just that the staff below didn’t know what else to call him, so they called him Morris Jr..

My workload was a bit heavy. By the time I finished, most people in the office had already left.

Zack hadn’t left yet.

When he saw me notice him, he waved hello.

I greeted him back. “Morris Jr..”

His peach-blossom eyes narrowed. This time the smile was genuine.

“Stella, when you call me that, I feel like you’re mocking me.”

“Are we really that distant?”

“Fine,” I said, letting him pull a smile out of me too. “Zack Morris.”

We went downstairs together.

He had one hand in his pocket, his movements seemingly casual.

“Now that you two have broken up, can you add my contact info back?”

Reminded by him, it finally clicked. There had been that whole situation.

Zack and I had also been college classmates.

But the way we met was, according to him, when he was on the outs with his family and got cut off financially, he had borrowed fifty bucks from me-a passerby-for cab fare.

And the reason I later deleted him was because, at graduation, Zack confessed his feelings to me.

I hadn’t even managed to send my rejection before Julian had already deleted him first.

Julian had been uncharacteristically angry at the time.

“I always knew he had bad intentions.”

He made me promise not to have any contact with Zack anymore. I had kept that promise all the way until

now

Even when I started working at his older brother’s company, the few times we ran into each other, it was only

a brief greeting before moving on

Now that he had my contact info again, it seemed his mission for the day was complete.

We walked out of the office building.

Julian’s car was parked not far away.

Seeing me, his eyes blinked in the darkness.

I was somewhat surprised to see Julian again.

I knew him. Julian had actually always been a proud person. It was just that, in the past, he loved acting

spoiled and shameless around me.

Now that the feelings were gone and I had spoken so clearly, I truly hadn’t expected him to still come looking

for me.

Julian treated Zack like air.

He was very natural, as if nothing at all had happened during this time.

“It’s been so many days. You should be over your anger by now, right?”

“I’m here to take you home.”

I let out a soft, sharp breath.

“If I remember correctly, we’ve already broken up, haven’t we?”

“I have my own home to go back to:

Julian remained perfectly calm.

“I never agreed to the breakup.”

There was nothing more I wanted to say

I was about to leave Julian grabbed my hand.

The moment he moved, Zack moved too. His hand landed on Julian’s shoulder, ready to pull him away.

“Julian, let go.”

“I don’t want to end up on the local trending news with you again.”

The corner of Julian’s mouth lifted into a cold sneer. He let out a derisive laugh.

“Me let go?”

“Let go so you can go with who? Zack Morris?”

“Stella, didn’t you promise me you wouldn’t have private contact with him anymore?”

The way he asked, it was as if he were reminding me.

I considered it for a moment, then smiled, not quite a smile.

“We broke up. What business is it of yours if I’m in contact with Zack again?”

“Didn’t you also promise me you wouldn’t see Mia anymore?”

“And didn’t you see her anyway, back before we even broke up?”

“Oh, right. It wasn’t just meeting up.”

“Or was it that, in your mind, we had already broken up by then?”

During the days of our constant fighting, I had asked Julian question after question just like this too.

But my words had been like insignificant dust in the air, not worth noticing.

So Julian had never responded to any of them.

But now, when I was no longer hysterical like before, Julian seemed suddenly able to hear my words.

He said,

“Stella, don’t be like this.
