Chase stood breathless in the doorway.

His eyes were bloodshot, fixed on the couple at the altar.

His voice echoed through the hall.

The crowd gasped, whispering.

Chase ignored them all, marching down the aisle until he stood face-to-face with Grant.

He stared him down, chest heaving, and said each word deliberately.

“Grant.”

“I’m betting you. Right here, right now.”

Grant smiled. Gently and firmly, he slid the ring onto Quinn’s finger.

Then he looked up, calm and steady.

“Chase, today’s my wedding to Quinn. Let’s skip the bet.”

“If you want, stay for a toast.”

“Don’t play dumb!” Chase snarled, eyes wild.

“Quinn was supposed to marry me! When did she become your wife?!”

“Stealing your friend’s bride, what kind of person does that?!”

Grant’s smile faded.

“You’re right, Quinn was your girlfriend.”

“But unless I’m wrong, you bet your wedding and lost. You called it off yourself.”

“Now you’re blaming me?”

Chase’s face reddened, voice cracking.

“You’re just jealous! You’ll take whatever I throw away?”

“You threw her away.” Grant’s tone went cold. “You’re blind.”

“If you didn’t want her, why come crashing in?”

Security rushed up to drag him out

Chase broke free, gasping.

“Grant, if you still call me a friend, take the bet.”

“Quinn means everything to me-”

Grant sighed, his eyes filled with pity. “You still don’t understand what you lost. Quinn isn’t some prize to be

won or lost in a bet.”

He took a breath, turned to Quinn, and softened his voice.

“I admit, I’ve loved Quinn for a long time.

“Even after everything, I’ll honor her choice.”

He met her eyes “Quinn, if you still want him, I’ll let you go.”

The room fell silent.

All eyes on Quinn

Without a word, she lifted her hand and showed Chase the ring on her finger.

“That’s my choice”

Grant held her hand tight.

“Quinn!”

Chase’s voice cracked, desperate.

“I know you’re mad. I’m sorry. I’m sorry!”

“We can get married today. I came back for you!”

Quinn looked at him, her face unreadable.

“That’s not going to happen.” She shook her head slowly. “I’m not going back.”

“Chase, not everything is a bet. Please, respect my choice.”
