Public outrage only continued to grow.

Before long, people dug up Kristina’s old social media posts.

The comment section was flooded with furious messages.

“So the mistress had the nerve to show off her affair online? Absolutely shameless.”

“A fake bond-sealing deal? They’re both disgusting.”

“She stole her own sister’s mate, then desecrated her mother’s ashes? That entire pack is rotten.”

“I supported them at the marking ceremony! Turns out everything was a lie. I’m sick of them.”

The people who had mocked me at the family dinner…

Aiden’s friends. The Carter family’s friends. Every one of them rushed to clear their names.

“She fooled all of us! We never knew she was that vicious.”

“I always felt something wasn’t right. I can’t believe I defended her.”

Overnight, Kristina became the target of everyone’s hatred.

She couldn’t even leave the house without being recognized.

Back at the villa, Aiden was still trapped in endless regret.

Then his assistant called.

His voice trembled so badly that he sounded close to tears.

“Alpha… We’re finished.”

“Luna sold every share she owned, including the shares you transferred to her.”

“Our biggest competitor bought all of them. Our stock has collapsed. The banks have canceled our

loans. Suppliers have surrounded the company. Both businesses are finished.”

“Pack members are already leaving.”

Aiden stood frozen. His entire body turned cold.

Only then did he finally understand. I hadn’t left because I was angry. I had left to destroy him.

Everything happening now… was the price he had to pay.

Kristina watched as the internet tore her apart and everything she had fought for crumpled around

her.

She could no longer pretend to be the innocent victim.

She stormed into the villa, hysterical.

“Aiden! It’s all gone! The company! The pack! Our money! My reputation!”

“This is all your fault! You destroyed my life!”

Aiden was already drowning in guilt.

Her screaming became the final straw.

“Enough! You manipulated me! You kept pretending to be the victim!”

“You talked me into using that fake bond-sealing deal against Rebecca!”

“Rebecca gave up the executive position because of it!”

“The clients left with her! Do you even know how much we lost?”

It was the first time he had ever shouted at Kristina.

She stared at him in disbelief before tears immediately filled her eyes.

“Did I force you?”

“You wanted all of this!”

“You were the one who climbed into my bed! You were the one who said Rebecca deserved to suffer! The fake bond-sealing deal was your idea!”

“You were the one who wanted her to spend her life raising my baby!”

“And now you’re blaming me?”

“Aiden, you’re the disgusting one! You’re the real monster!”

“Shut up!”

His whole body shook with rage as he raised his hand.

Kristina immediately shielded her stomach and stumbled backward.

“Go ahead! Hit me! Kill me and your own child while you’re at it!”

“You don’t care about either of us anyway!”

His hand remained suspended in the air.

A few seconds later, it slowly fell back to his side.

He looked at the woman standing before him.

The sweetness she had always pretended to have was gone.

Only bitterness and ugliness remained.

Without warning, my face appeared in his mind.

Quiet. Gentle. Always looking at him with eyes full of love.

Always enduring everything without complaint.

Regret. Pain. Despair.

They crashed over him all at once.

At the same time, the pack hospital was in complete chaos.

Dad learned that Carter Group had collapsed and the pack was falling apart.

The shock sent him straight to the emergency room.

The pack doctors diagnosed him with a cerebral blood clot.

They warned that he would most likely spend the rest of his life paralyzed and confined to a bed.

Unable to reach me himself, he asked someone else to contact me.

“Rebecca… I was wrong. I’m sorry.”

“I’m sorry to you… and to your mother… I was blind. I favored the wrong person.”

“I ruined both your lives. Can you… forgive me…”

He was crying on the other end of the call.

Begging me.

I listened without feeling a thing.

“Dad, you abandoned Mom and me. You stood by while everyone bullied us.”

“You watched us get thrown out. You never once protected us.’

“You called Mom the mistress Luna. You called me a bastard.”

“You said I didn’t deserve the Carter name. You said I didn’t deserve to belong to the pack.”

“Even the ashes I treasured weren’t Mom’s. They were nothing but baby formula.”

My voice remained calm.

“You were right, we were never family. This will be the last time I ever call you Dad.”

“What becomes of the Carter family… Or your pack… Has nothing to do with me anymore.”

I ended the call. And I never looked back.

Some wounds could never heal. Some relationships could never be repaired.

As for everything he owed my mother and me…

He would carry that regret for the rest of his life.
