Accidentally Yours Chapter 08

Accidentally Yours Chapter 08

Thorne gave a bitter smile. “Still think I’m in love with Isolde?”

Wait. That’s what Ithought, wasn’t it?

Hewas the one who said the wrong name and made me misunderstand!

“So what really happened?”

Thorne gently took my hand.

When I didn’t pull away, he led me over to the window.

He guided me onto the sofa and sat down beside me.

“Elara, this is all my fault.”

Thorne said he’d noticed me at school and thought I looked familiar.

So he started paying more attention.

And the more he watched, the more he liked what he saw.

He was busy back then, and a little shy, so he asked a friend to add me on iMessage.

The number was right, but the name got mixed up.

“I didn’t know you two well back then. I just knew you were close, practically inseparable. I asked around, and people were pretty sure the taller one was the older sister, named Isolde.”

Who would’ve guessed the taller one was actually the younger sister?

Isolde and I are Irish twins. Born eleven months apart.

We grew up together, wore matching dresses, carried matching backpacks.

When we were kids, everyone thought we were twins.

Until middle school, when I hit a growth spurt.

I shot up way past Isolde.

After that, no matter what she ate, she couldn’t catch up.

Since I was a head taller, people always assumed I was the older one.

But I never expected it to cause such a huge mix-up.

He didn’t add the wrong number, and he didn’t like the wrong person. He just got the name wrong.

Maybe compared to what I thought before, this was actually a relief.

So, Thorne did like me, after all.

But…

“Didn’t you ever wonder why I looked familiar?”

Thorne frowned, thinking hard.

Finally, he said three words. “The library.”

Thorne, my feelings for you started way before yours.

But I wasn’t going to tell him that.

Thorne cupped my face in his hands, his voice soft.

“When you blocked me, I knew something was wrong. By the time I figured it out, it was already too late.”

I let out a wry laugh.

I used to think people who didn’t even ask for each other’s names before dating online were ridiculous. Never thought I’d end up in an even more absurd situation.

Thorne rested his forehead against mine.

I didn’t pull away.

He seemed to understand immediately.

“And here I thought I was the only one…”

A look of relief washed over Thorne’s face.

“So… when you told me not to chase after Isolde, you thought I meant not to chase after you?”

“Yeah.”

Thorne nodded.

We fell silent.

The questions we didn’t ask, we already knew the answers to.

Thorne kept staring at me.

His eyes traced my brows, my nose, finally settling on my lips.

I watched his Adam’s apple bob.

Then his face started to move closer.

I knew what was coming.

You’re supposed to close your eyes when you kiss, right?

But just as his lips were about to touch mine, I pushed him back.

“Wait! We’re forgetting something important!”

Thorne opened his eyes, looking a little frustrated.

“We were this close.”

I ignored his pout. “Are you sureIsolde isn’t here?”

Thorne looked both amused and exasperated.

“Elle, that’s not funny.”

“Then what was that phone call in the car? What ‘not something to brag about’ thing were you talking about?”

If it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t have jumped to conclusions.

Thorne’s gaze burned into me, his possessiveness clear.

“What if I said I was planning to do whatever it took to keep you by my side?”

Whatever it took?

What does that mean?

Like… forced love?

I was getting dizzy.

I didn’t notice Thorne’s hand slowly slide behind my

head.

Then a fierce, possessive kiss landed.

He kissed me senseless.

Between gasps, he murmured in my ear, “Elle, the moment I saw you again, I regretted not commg for you sooner. When you hinted that I should back off, I nearly lost my mind. Elle, you’re mine…”.

Just when things were about to get out of hand, my phone rang.
