The Secret Inside the Sofa Chapter 06

The Secret Inside the Sofa Chapter 06

Faced with the accusations, I felt nothing at all. I had endured all of this for days-just to reach this

moment.

My voice remained calm as my gaze swept over Victoria and Justin, both wearing smug expressions.

“Your Honor, I request permission to play the next video.”

With the judge’s approval, my lawyer immediately operated the equipment. The screen switched to a nighttime view of the living room.

Moonlight filtered through the curtains, faintly outlining the sofa.

Then, suddenly, the backrest of the sofa began to lift.

Everyone present was visibly confused.

“What the… are we watching a furniture demo now?”

“This sofa has that feature? Sure, it’s handy for storing blankets, but what’s the point of showing this

now?”

“Wait… that opening angle doesn’t look like normal storage space.”

For the first time, a flicker of panic crossed Justin’s face. Victoria’s complexion turned deathly pale.

But I gave them no chance to react. The video continued.

In the dim light, a shadowy figure crawled out from inside the sofa. It was too dark to make out clearly, but the figure was unmistakably male.

The man walked straight to Victoria, who was curled up on the sofa, and bent down to pull her into his arms. They embraced, then grew intimate.

Only as dawn approached did the man quietly slip back into the hidden compartment of the sofa.

Several more clips were played in succession. Every single one showed the same scene.

Night after night, a man emerged from inside the sofa to spend the night with Victoria.

The courtroom fell into dead silence. Everyone was stunned.

A few seconds later, the silence shattered into an uproar.

“What the hell?! Someone was hiding inside the sofa? That’s insane! No wonder she refused to sleep in the bedroom and stayed on the couch every night-this is why!”

“My god, she was pregnant! And she still hid another man in the house like this? If they’d been caught on

the spot, someone could’ve died!”

“Matt got it the worst… his own home turned into someone else’s meeting place. No wonder he was so determined to divorce her right after she gave birth-he must’ve noticed something long ago. Who could

tolerate a betrayal like that?”

Sympathetic looks turned toward me. Those who had condemned me earlier now showed visible shame.

Victoria suddenly jumped to her feet, waving her hands frantically.

“No! That’s not it! It’s not like that-don’t listen to him!”

Seeing the tide turn against her, Justin immediately rushed forward to shield her, pointing at me as he shouted, “Who’s to say that shadow in the video isn’t you? Matt, don’t think we’re all fools!”

His eyes flickered, but he forced himself to appear composed.

“Victoria was pregnant and weak-she refused to sleep with you, and you’ve been holding a grudge,

haven’t you? So you came up with this disgusting scheme-hiding in the sofa yourself, staging all of this,

filming it just to frame her and make your divorce look justified!”

His words caused hesitation to ripple through the crowd.

“That… makes some sense. It’s dark in those videos-you can’t see the face. Maybe he really staged it.”

“His behavior in the delivery room was already abnormal. Asking for divorce right after childbirth-and now producing such blurry footage… who knows if he fabricated it?”

“Exactly. What if he planned this all along to trap Victoria into a divorce?”

The accusations began to rise again, the blame shifting back onto me.

Watching the crowd waver, a faint, almost imperceptible smile curled at the corner of Victoria’s lips. Her eyes gleamed with quiet triumph. She must have believed that the darkness would keep the truth hidden

forever.

I let out a cold laugh and tilted my chin toward my lawyer.

“Play the next video.”

The screen abruptly switched to the same living room-this time in broad daylight.

Sunlight streamed through the windows, illuminating every corner. The sofa was fully opened, exposing

the compartment inside.

Then, the man crawled out. He wore the same dark jacket as the figure from the night footage, his hair slightly disheveled.

He walked straight to Victoria, casually draped an arm over her shoulders, and spoke to her in a low

voice. The two exchanged smiles, their intimacy far exceeding anything between an assistant and an

employer.

The image was crystal clear. Under the sunlight, Justin’s face was unmistakable.

The courtroom went completely silent-so quiet that even breathing could be heard.

A few seconds later, someone sucked in a sharp breath, and then the room erupted like a tidal wave.

“It’s him! That assistant-Justin! No wonder he’s been defending her all this time!”

“What a piece of work-taking the boss’s money and sleeping with the boss’s wife!”

“They’ve been doing it in secrecy for a long time, and even had the nerve to frame Matt!”

Someone in the back grew so agitated that they nearly rushed forward, only to be held back by others.

Victoria’s smile froze on her face. The color drained from her skin in an instant.

Justin’s entire body trembled. His legs gave out, and he nearly collapsed to his knees.
