My Future Self Exposed My Mom’s Secret Sacrifice Chapter 01

My Future Self Exposed My Mom’s Secret Sacrifice Chapter 01

My mom pulled in thirty million dollars a month overseas.

The allowance she sent me was just thirty bucks.

My dad tried to argue for more once.

They almost filed for divorce over it.

Jasper slipped me cash behind their backs, eyes red and watery.

He was grounded for a month because of it.

Kian took his car keys, froze his card, and locked him out of the family accounts .

Every time my stomach cramped from hunger, I hated her fiercely.

I hated how cold and unyielding she was.

I hated that she’d given birth to me yet refused to properly provide for me.

Then my phone rang with a video call from myself ten years in the future.

I answered, voice shaking with excitement.

“What’s my life like ten years from now? Did I cut all ties with that cruel woman for good?”

The version of me on screen burst into furious, tearful sobs.

“Do you have any idea what she did for you? Kian and Jasper’s manipulation left you critically ill, and she gave up part of her own body to save you without a second thought.”

“After the surgery, she spent everything she had fighting for full custody of you to stop them hurting you again. She put all medical care for herself on hold to fund your care, and suffered constant unmanaged pain for years.”

I stared at the screen, utterly stunned.

Future me pulled a smile that hurt worse than crying.

“Every single one-hundred-thousand-dollar monthly stipend she wired you—they siphoned ninety-nine grand of it straight to that girl they’ve been hiding.”

“If you don’t believe me, drive out to Westbrook Estates and see it for yourself.”

I headed to the upscale gated neighborhood without hesitation.

Blazing sun beat down on me while security blocked the gate.

His gaze sharpened with suspicion.

“We don’t let random strangers wander in here. Who’re you looking for?”

A flicker of desperate hope lingered in my chest as I spoke quietly.

“I’m looking for Kian. I’m his daughter.”

The guard let out a mocking laugh.

“Kian only has one son and one daughter, Liora Mae. He flew her to a designer trunk show yesterday to choose new gowns.”

“You’re some random nobody pretending to be his kid, aren’t you?”

He tossed a printed photograph my way.

My blood turned to ice the second I saw it.

Kian and Jasper stood on either side of the same girl, grinning warmly.

I recognized her instantly—Liora, the most popular girl in our grade.

Two months prior, she’d bragged openly in class about the mansion they’d bought for her outright.

When someone asked how much it cost, she’d smirked proudly.

“Nothing crazy, only thirty million dollars.”

Seraphina had supposedly sent me $100,000 a month since freshman year.

That was $1.2 million a year.

I had been living on $30 a month.

My hands shook so hard I could barely grip the photo.

I got home to find Kian and Jasper sitting in the living room.

Neither noticed how deathly pale my face had gone.

Kian walked over and pressed crumpled cash into my palm.

“Here’s your monthly stipend from Seraphina. Spend it wisely.”

I glanced down at the thirty dollars in my hand, then lifted my gaze to meet his perpetually gentle, pitying expression.

My eyes burned, and I pulled a bitter, mocking smile onto my face.

Thirty dollars each month. Are you content letting me struggle to get by every single day?

Kian’s brows tightened the second he caught the bite in my tone.

“You know how volatile Seraphina is. If I dare push her about raising your allowance, she’ll send over a marital dissolution agreement again.”

I lifted an eyebrow, my voice rising slightly.

“Really? Next time she calls, I’ll ask her about it myself.”

Jasper stepped right beside me instantly, patting my head soothingly, then slipped a hundred-dollar bill into my grasp.

“I’ll cover it this month. We can just keep your room off the cooling schedule this month.”

He leaned in, whispering with a playful wink.

“You can sneak it on whenever you want, Dad and I’ll pretend we don’t notice.”

Ever since Seraphina moved overseas, this house had ridiculous rules.

They locked the Wi-Fi, the thermostat, and even my phone plan behind “usage fees.”

If I couldn’t pay, I lost access.

I never had the money to pay those fees.

I could only turn anything on for two days at the very start and end of each month.

So many nights, I did my homework in total darkness.

During sweltering summer days when I was unwell each month, I would cry from the heat and splash cold tap water over my skin to find relief.

A hundred dollars would’ve made me overjoyed once.

But all I could think about was what Liora had told us before.

She’d said she’d always been frail, so her dad hired top designers to install a separate climate-control system for her bedroom.

It ran nonstop all year long to keep her temperature perfect at all times.

The smug look on her face back then burned into my brain.

I pushed the hundred dollars back to him without touching it, only keeping the thirty bucks.

“I don’t want it,” I said, each word cold and clear.

“I just want what’s legally mine.”

I spun around, walked to my bedroom, and grabbed my state-issued ID card off the dresser.

I drove straight to Maple Creek Community Bank nearby.

I handed my ID across the service counter.

“I need printed statements for this account going back three years”
