For the first time ever, in front of the entire crowd, I pulled off the Sun Priest’s robe.

I tossed the glowing goldea robe aside. I stood in the middle of the temple in a comfortable tank top and pants, letting everyone stare at me in shock.

I smiled at the elder and said, “Do you see that?

“The Sun Priest doesn’t have to be a man.

“This ridiculous, absurd rule and tradition.

“It ends here!”

I pulled off the laurel crown and dropped it on the ground, then turned and walked out of the temple.

My soul felt as light as a singing bird.

The whole thing caused a huge stir across the forest. Some people started questioning the temple’s old

traditions.

But none of that mattered to me anymore. I packed my bags and planned to go adventuring in the Wastes.

During this time, Roran came looking for me over and over.

He blocked my path, eyes red, and refused to move out of the way.

It was pouring that day. He wouldn’t accept it. He grabbed my hand and wouldn’t let go.

I stood close to him, and a raindrop fell from his hair onto my cheek.

His voice cracked. “Caelum, please don’t do this. I’m sorry, I was so stupid. I never even suspected a thing, and I treated you so badly… why didn’t you tell me?”

He clenched his hand at his side, and for the first time, I saw him cry.

“I’ve only ever loved one person my whole life. It’s you. I really love you. I never thought about why…”

Why, indeed?

Probably because the person he loved was just a fantasy Moon Priestess.

And most hard questions in life didn’t have answers anyway.

I was too small.

He was too stubborn.

Fate made us miss each other, and never gave us a do-over.

He leaned back with his hands behind his head and said casually, “I’ll wait for you. Just so when you come back someday, you have at least one person who knows you here.”

I froze.

He turned to look at me, serious now.

“One condition-”

He paused, then grinned a little.

“Princess Caelum, will you wear a silver dress for me once, when you come back?”

Butterflies erupted in my chest.

I said, “Okay.”

Once, I said sadly, “I wish I could be the Moon Priestess just once…”

Now, I was already someone else’s moon.

After saying goodbye to Leoric, I went home to pack my clothes.

Mom stammered for a long time, standing awkwardly in front of me. Her eyes were red, and she kept saying
