Mated to Another, Imprisoned by Him Chapter 02

Mated to Another, Imprisoned by Him Chapter 02 Useless Things
The next day, I returned to the estate where I had spent three years with Winder.
I pushed open the door and froze. It didn’t feel like my home anymore.
The place used to be stark black and white. Now, overnight, it had turned into something warm and soft.
Pink floral wallpaper creeping up the walls. Cream cashmere rugs layered over the floors. Every room choked with potted roses.
My favorite flowers.
I had begged him for three months just to keep one bouquet.
Now, the whole house was overflowing with them. For Sally.
“Sally likes it this way,” Winder said from behind me.
I turned around. He was looking at me with impatience.
How ironic. Those same eyes used to be clouded with desire.
“She stopped by yesterday. She saw your things and got upset.”
He led me outside to the toolshed.
My luggage was tossed aside like garbage.
It had rained last night. Everything I once treasured was now caked in mud, filthy beyond saving.
The silk scarf he gave me that first night was ripped to shreds.
The pendant I made for him—infused with white wolf blood to enhance his power, a gift I bought with a huge bowl of my own blood—was thrown carelessly into a corner.
It was cracked. Bright red blood was seeping out.
I had been so weak after getting it for him that I stayed in bed for six months.
He let out a soft sigh.
“None of this stuff is useful anyway. Just throw it out. Whatever you need, I’ll buy you new ones.”
“Useless… stuff?”
My eyes burned, but I blinked the tears back.
Then I saw it—a soaked, ruined white paper charm in the corner.
I had spent three days and three nights kneeling at the Moon Goddess temple, praying for it.
The war between wolves and vampires had been going on for a year. As the Alpha King, Winder was always on the front lines, his life hanging by a thread.
I was terrified for him, so I knelt before the Moon Goddess and begged for that charm.
And now, it was just another piece of trash, thrown away and forgotten.
Matching clothes. Shoes. Toothbrushes.
Every single item had once held all the blazing love I felt for him.
Now, they all mocked me for being such a fool.
I bent down, gathered them up, and threw everything into the trash can.
Then I picked up the pendant and crushed it in my fist.
Shattered.
“It’s dirty. I don’t want it anymore.”
Winder, that included you.
His brows instantly drew together.
But I just curled my lips into a smile.
“Alpha is right. They’re all useless things. They should’ve been thrown out a long time ago.”
My stupid heart included. All those wasted feelings for him.
I didn’t react to the darkness on his face. I just lowered my head and handed him the departure papers.
“Alpha, this is my…”
Before I could finish, his phone rang.
Sally’s voice came through loud and clear.
“Winder, it’s snowing. Come pick me up.”
The gloom on his face vanished instantly. Without even glancing at the paper in my hand, he scrawled his signature at the bottom.
“Take a cab back. Message me when you get home.”
Home?
Did I have a home here?
No. This had never been my home.
By the time Winder drove away, the snow was already piled high.
The estate sat in the middle of nowhere, with no cars in sight.
I had no choice but to open my umbrella and start walking downhill against the wind.
It was freezing. My wolf spirit started growing restless again.
Pain twisted through my chest, and my vision blurred.
My foot slipped. I crashed hard onto the ground.
Two kinds of pain exploded through me at once. I curled up, unable to hold back a low moan.
Just then, a familiar black SUV sped past.
It didn’t slow down. It almost ran me over.
Snow sprayed up, covering me in a fresh layer.
I couldn’t help but look up.
Through the window, I saw Sally sitting beside Winder, her makeup perfect.
Winder was smiling at her, gentle and warm.
My wolf spirit slammed wildly inside me, fighting to break free.
In the freezing blizzard, sweat dripped down my forehead from the pain.
I couldn’t hold on any longer.
I blacked out.

When I woke up, I was in the hospital.
I checked the time. I had been so weak I spent two full days unconscious.
At five o’clock this afternoon, my application to leave the pack would automatically take effect.
Ding.
My phone chimed. A message from Winder.
“Bring me my wolf spirit stabilizer.” A location pin followed.
Panic hit me instantly.
Wolf spirit stabilizer was only used for serious injuries.
Had something happened to him?
Panic twisted in my gut. I grabbed the vial, shifted, and darted into the storm.
The wind howled as I ran. Looking at the cure in my hand, I realized how pathetic I was.
For three years, I had run to him like this every time.
Even when I was hurt. Even when the roads were buried in snow. Even after cursing myself a thousand times.
Winder, this is the last time.
Consider it repayment for the shelter you gave me all these years.
Once five o’clock comes and my application takes effect, we are even.
