The Comments Told Me The Twin Brothers Shared Sensation Chapter 11

The Comments Told Me The Twin Brothers Shared Sensation Chapter 11

It was true.

If the comments had never appeared and Chloe had never joined us, I probably would have ended up

with Mason.

You did not spend night after night sleeping in someone’s arms if you felt nothing for him.

Mason and I had been one honest conversation away from getting together.

Two days before the comments appeared, I had overheard Mason asking Adrian, “Adrian, what are

you supposed to do when you tell a girl you like her? Give her a ring? A necklace?”

Adrian’s voice had been cold when he answered.

“No idea.”

My thoughts were a tangled mess, and at some point, I drifted off to sleep.

When I woke the next morning, Adrian was still asleep.

I was desperately thirsty, so I crept out of the room, only to stop short in surprise.

A massive pile of supplies had been stacked outside Adrian’s door.

Canned chili, chips, instant ramen, and frozen pizza rolls were heaped together in a chaotic mound.

Mason crouched in front of it with his head buried between his knees, looking like an abandoned

stray dog.

When he heard me, he raised his head.

His red-rimmed eyes and deathly pale face startled me.

Only then did I realize how haggard he had become in the few days I had barely looked at him.

“Quinn, Adrian picked every flower around here.”

His voice caught.

“I searched all night and brought back every supply I could find nearby. There weren’t any flowers

left, only weeds.”

I had no idea what to say.

Mason’s eyelashes trembled.

This time, he did not try to hide the tears in his eyes.

He let me watch them fall, one heavy drop after another.

His expression barely changed. He simply frowned faintly, his eyes red and wet.

“And there’s this…”

He reached into his pocket and pulled out an ugly wooden ring.

It was incredibly rough, and anyone could tell at a glance that it was too large.

“The day I rescued Chloe, I was looking for a good piece of wood. This was the first ring I made for you, but it’s awful…”

He pressed his lips together.

“I thought that by the time I made the tenth one, I’d finally have one that fit your finger. I was going to slip it onto your finger while you were asleep, and then…”

“When you woke up, I was going to ask if you wanted to be with me. If you said no, I wouldn’t hold you while we slept the next night.”

I stared at the small wooden ring without speaking.

“But I ruined everything.”

“I was angry because you lied to me. I hate being lied to more than anything. If you had just told me the truth, I would’ve let you hold me. I liked it too…”

His knuckles turned white, and his voice grew even rougher.

“I liked having you hold me. I liked you sleeping in my arms. But you lied, and I was so angry that I decided I wouldn’t speak to you for an entire week.”

“Then you stopped looking at me. You started looking at Adrian instead. Was it because he has the same face I do? That made me even angrier, so I decided I wouldn’t speak to you for ten days.”

He lifted his eyes to mine, looking lost.

“Every time you touch Adrian, I feel it too. You didn’t know that, did you? Our shared-sensation link developed right after the outbreak.”

“Every time you touched him, I felt like I was going to explode. So I secretly added more time. I decided I wouldn’t speak to you for fifteen days, but…”

He stared at me without blinking.

“Then I realized you didn’t care. I was the only one who cared.”

“You stopped looking at me. You didn’t care how many days I ignored you. All you could see was

Adrian.”

I wanted to run, but my feet felt nailed to the floor.
