Alphas’ Biggest Mistake Chapter 05

Alphas’ Biggest Mistake Chapter 05

The next second, someone shoved me hard. I hit the ground, landing hard enough to knock the air out of me

Merrick didn’t even glance at me. He wrapped his arms around Lope, gently blowing on the red mark on her cheek while whispering comforting words.

Kieran’s face turned stone cold.

“Fenrisa! You dared to lay a hand on her? Apologize to Lope. Now.”

He spat the words like poison.

“That worthless bracelet from your dead father? How much could that even be worth? Oh, right, he was too

broke to buy you anything decent.”

His voice was full of venom, and my body started shaking. I couldn’t take it anymore. I slapped him across

the face.

“Kieran! That bracelet isn’t worthless. It’s the most important thing I have. You had no right to give it

away!”

His eyes went wide. Then, fury surged through him.

With a sharp stomp, he crushed the crystal under his boot. I knew both he and his wolf couldn’t stand being

humiliated like that.

In a blink, his Alpha presence flared. I flinched.

I knew what was coming. He wasn’t going to let this/slide.

“Hold her down,” he growled. “Make her kneel on those shards. Not one less than ninety–nine bows. She’s not leaving until she finishes.”

Hands grabbed me, slamming my forehead into the shattered pieces over and over again.

Pain stabbed through my skin like icy needles, but it didn’t compare to what I felt in say chest.

In just seconds, warm blood was running down my face, dripping onto the floor.

I couldn’t think anymore. My head was spinning, my face soaked in blood.

Kieran stared at the mess on my face and felt an unfamiliar tightness in his chest.

“You realize what you did wrong?” he asked.

I said nothing.

He scoffed. “Keep going. She’ll stop when she learns her place.”

Then Merrick finally spoke up.

“Kieran, if this keeps going, she’s gonna end up seriously hurt.”

Kieran stayed calm, lazily spinning something in his hand. “What? You feeling bad now? Don’t forget. Who took those photos in the first place?”

Right then, Lope suddenly collapsed. Merrick picked her up immediately and ran out, not even sparing me a

glance.

His face was filled with worry, more than I’d ever seen before.

Kieran looked down at me. There was a flicker of annoyance in his eyes.

“You see that? Merrick never cared about you. Don’t get greedy, Fenrisa. You’re not meant to have what

doesn’t belong to you.”

“Lope is my sister. If anything happens to her, we’ll make sure you pay.‘

They left. I was the only one who stayed behind, cleaning my wounds by myself.

As soon as I walked out of the hospital, my phone rang. It was Aurelius.

“Fenrisa, we might have to leave earlier than planned…”

Inside the Pack’s recovery ward, Kieran felt strangely uneasy.

He pushed away the mess in his mind and walked into the room. He wasn’t expecting to find Lope smiling as

she held up her phone.

“Kieran, Merrick! I can’t believe you actually sent Fenrisa away for me!”

The moment the words left her mouth, both men’s expressions changed instantly.

“What did you say?” Kieran snapped. “Who sent Fenrisa away?”

“She wouldn’t just leave,” Merrick said. “Why would she?”

They both stared at her, disbelief written all over their faces.

Lope was stunned by their reactions. She didn’t know what to say.

Her silence only made Merrick more anxious. He grabbed her wrist, gripping tightly.

“Say something! What do you mean we sent her away?”

Lope yelped. “Merrick, that hurts! Let go and I’ll tell you!”

Realizing how hard he was holding her, Merrick pulled back.

“Sorry, Lope. I didn’t mean to scare you. Just, what did you say earlier? That we made Fenrisa leave? What

does that mean?”

Kieran hadn’t said a word yet, but his eyes were locked on her, clearly waiting.

Seeing how desperate they both looked, jealousy burned inside Lope.

Why did Fenrisa always get their attention? It had always been that way.

If she hadn’t whispered ties about Fenrisa behind the scenes, they would’ve already cared more for her than they ever did for Lope.

She couldn’t allow that to happen.

Both Alphas belonged to her.

She forced her voice to soften. “Merrick, I just overheard it. Some students said there was a notice posted at school. Fenrisa’s going abroad with Aurelius for some project.”

“They also said she’s only leaving because those private photos of hers got out. She couldn’t stand the humiliation, so she clung to the professor for a way out.”

“I mean, do you really think she’d have the talent for that kind of project? Please. One of you must’ve pulled some strings. There’s no way Aurelius would bring someone like her otherwise.”

The room went dead silent.

Merrick looked like all the air had been sucked out of him. He froze.

He murmured, “That can’t be right. I deleted those photos. Why would she leave because of that?”
