The Alpha King’s Real Daughter’s Return Chapter 07

The Alpha King’s Real Daughter’s Return Chapter 07 The Rescue

He burst into the room, pushing everyone else aside.

Lifting me out of the water, he asked with deep anger, “How did you end up like this?”

Ethan held my ice-cold-hand, his face full of regret.

“I’m sorry. I woke up too late. I’ve told the Alpha King everything, but I should have woken up sooner to bring him to you.”

I forced a pale smile to comfort them, speaking slowly.

“It’s okay. At least I’m alive. I just need some rest to recover.”

After saying that, a heavy drowsiness took over.

Nearby, Damian’s eyes were wide as he stared at my father.

He couldn’t understand how a rogue like me could have any connection to the King, let alone receive such desperate concern.

He turned his gaze to Ayla, silently begging her for an answer.

“Ayla, what’s going on here?” he muttered under his breath. “You’re the princess. Why is he acting so tense around Alicia? Even if he’s pretending not to know you, this is way too much! Tell me the truth-I’m the one who saved your life, I’m not an outsider!”

Ayla

was ghostly pale, her lips white. She stammered for a long time but couldn’t get a single word out.

Realizing things had taken a terrible turn, she took a few steps back, turned, and tried to flee.

“Stop her!” my father roared.

“Arrest her, Damian, and that guard captain from earlier. Lock them all up. Until Alicia wakes up and explains everything, no one leaves!”

Hearing that, I finally felt safe enough to close my eyes.

I didn’t forget to whisper a quick “thank you” to Ethan, and even gave my father a weak thumbs-up.

When I woke up again, I was back in my own palace.

A circle of worried faces surrounded me-my father, my mother, and even Ethan.

Seeing me open my eyes, everyone let out a sigh of relief.

My mother rushed forward and held me tight, tears spilling over.

“My sweet child, how did you get hurt like this? I was worried sick. I thought our protection was enough to keep you safe, but I never thought you would suffer through this!”

My father frowned and sighed beside the bed. “Where on earth did things go wrong?”

I shook my head slightly. “Where are they? I want to question them myself.”

My father drove me to the cells.

Inside, I saw Damian, Ayla, and the guard captain.

They looked just as panicked now as they had been arrogant before.

Separated by iron bars, Damian stared at me. “Alicia, what is this?”

“Did you lie to the King about us? Why else would he lock us up? His own daughter is right here!”

I let out a cold laugh, finding him absurd.

“Are you really this dense? I told you before-I am the King’s daughter.”

“Do you honestly think my father is so free that he would fly across the continent just for fun? Why else would he go through all this trouble to find me at a local hospital? Your being locked in this cell today is the proof. And I’m sure you know exactly how terrifying the royal family’s revenge is against those who dare harm their princess…”

Damian’s face drained of color.

Just as he turned to say something to Ayla, she broke down first.

She threw herself to her knees, trembling violently.

“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to! I really didn’t know you were the true princess. I was just so envious of your life, so I stole your clothes and faked your identity.”

“I beg you! I know I was wrong! You can inflict all the injuries you suffered back onto me-just spare my life, please…”

With shaking hands, she stripped off the red vest and handed it to me. The moment it left her body, her true Omega scent filled the room.

Looking at the vest tainted with her scent, disgust filled my eyes.

“I’ll have it burned.”

Ayla buried her head even lower.

Seeing this play out, the royal guard captain’s eyes went wide with sheer disbelief.

He pointed a shaking finger at Ayla, his voice cracking. “You’re… you’re not the princess? Why the hell didn’t

you say so sooner?!”
