My Alpha Mate Stole Our Daughter’s Heart for His Mistress’s Son Chapter 05

My Alpha Mate Stole Our Daughter’s Heart for His Mistress’s Son Chapter 05

I finally woke up inside a secluded hunting lodge, tucked deep into the restricted edges of the pack

territory.

The entire perimeter was suffocating under an ancient Lycan sealing barrier.

The boundary walls had been reinforced, their concrete tops aggressively crowned with rows of jagged, broken glass shards and rusted iron spikes

It was a classic, brutal methodology the pack deployed to keep high-profile defectors from

escaping-crude, but devastatingly effective.

Julia had clearly assumed the heavy sedatives would keep me down for days, so she hadn’t

bothered wasting guards on the immediate perimeter.

She also hadn’t realized I kept a backup burner phone slipped into my hidden coat pocket. I didn’t

waste a single heartbeat. Shaking uncontrollably, I pulled out the device and dialed the human law

enforcement dispatch.

The second I finished relaying the coordinates, I locked my eyes onto the towering perimeter wall.

The blunt-force trauma at the back of my skull throbbed with a sickening, liquid heat, but the

roaring panic for my daughter eclipsed the pain.

Clawing my way across the dirt, I scrambled up the trunk of an old oak tree nesting in the corner of

the yard, using its branches to reach the lip of the barrier.

It was the dead of summer. I was wearing nothing but a thin, threadbare T-shirt and denim shorts.

The moment my weight shifted onto the top of the wall, the jagged glass shards and iron spikes

tore ruthlessly through my bare skin, slicing deep, ragged tracks across my stomach, arms, and

thighs.

Shards of glass snapped off, burying themselves deep into the meat of my wounds alongside dirt

and mud.

Blood immediately surged from the lacerations, painting my skin a horrific, sticky crimson. Within seconds, there wasn’t a single clean inch left on my body.

Staring down from the towering height of the wall, my jaw clenched until my teeth cracked. I locked my eyes on the gravel below, hardened my heart, and threw myself off.

Thankfully, a dense, low-growing shrub caught the brunt of my weight, breaking my velocity just enough to save my legs from snapping on impact, though the agony of the landing nearly made me black out.

I didn’t give myself a single second to breathe. Choking back a scream, I dragged my mangled

body out of the dirt and forced my legs to move.

I knew these coordinates; we were barely a mile away from the private medical facility Julia had

gloated about during her visit.

Dragging my bloody, useless left leg behind me, I stumbled blindly down the asphalt toward the

hospital.

By the time I breached the sterile, white corridors of the VIP wing, the glowing red light above the

operating theater was already illuminated. Mia was already on the table.

My heart plunged into a bottomless, freezing abyss

Disregarding the horrific, bloody sight I presented, threw my weight against the glass panels, screaming my daughter’s name until my vocal cords shredded, dropping to my knees before the passing medical staff, clawing at their scrubs as I begged them to stop.

“My baby girl… Mia is inside! Please… I am begging you, look at me, you have to save her… please…”

I was hyperventilating so violently I could barely draw air into my lungs, but the surgeon merely looked down at me through his mask, his voice carrying a calm, chillingly detached tone.

“Ah, you’re Mia’s mother?”

“She was brought in following a catastrophic accident. We are currently performing emergency protocols.”

The doctor adjusted his gloves, his eyes utterly devoid of emotion. “However, due to the extreme severity of her internal trauma… well, it just so happens that we have another pediatric patient in the adjacent wing who has been on the organ registry waiting for a compatible ‘Moon-Heart.”

“Your husband has already signed the definitive waiver and non-resuscitation forms. The hospital administration deeply admires the incredible righteousness and sacrifice you and the Alpha are showing today…”

The clinical, structured words broke the absolute final thread of my sanity.

“Andrew Walsh, you subhuman monster!”

“She is your child! How can you look at your own baby and do this?!”

“Mia is your biological daughter, you beast!!”

Ignoring the agony ripping through my sliced skin, unged forward, throwing my entire body

weight against the heavy electronic doors of the theater, screaming and thrashing like a wild animal

Before I could dent the frame, the locks clicked open-not out of a sudden surge of guilt from Andrew, but because he was terrified my screaming would disrupt the delicate extraction process.

A team of elite pack warriors swarmed out from the shadows, violently pinning my bloody limbs to the linoleum and driving a heavy syringe of heavy sedatives deep into my neck.

The chemicals hit my bloodstream instantly, melting the strength in my muscles until I collapsed into a pathetic, slack heap on the floor.

Andrew stepped out into the corridor, looking down at my mangled, bloody form with an expression of intense, unadulterated disgust.

“I apologize for the disturbance, Doctor,” he said smoothly, adjusting the cuffs of his pristine suit jacket as he turned to the medical team. “My mate suffers from severe, intermittent psychosis.”

“Throughout our marriage, she has never failed to embarrass me on a global stage.”

He directed a cold, sweeping glance across my weeping wounds, his lip curling.

“Look at her. I have no idea what gutter she dragged herself out of, but she is filthy and reeking of

waste. This is a sterile surgical environment; does she have no sense of decency?”

I stared up at the man I had given my youth to, my voice a broken, wet whisper against the

floorboards as I begged for my child’s life.

“Andrew… please. Look at me… I stayed by your side when you were a nobody… when we had absolutely nothing. Please, show a single drop of mercy… let her go…”

“Mia is your real daughter, Andrew! I swear to God she is yours! Take my heart instead… please, cut

out my heart, just let her live…”

Andrew didn’t reply in front of the doctors. He violently hoisted my limp body off the floor by my hair and dragged me into the concrete emergency stairwell, slamming the heavy door shut behind

Us.

He listened to my choked, desperate begging with a cold, mocking smirk splitting his features.

“Your heart?” he chuckled, the sound dripping with pure, unadulterated disdain. “An adult Lycan’s cardiac metrics are completely incompatible with a developing child’s vessel.”

“You chose to betray me first, Claire. Mia is nothing but a useless, stagnant runt who couldn’t even awaken her inner wolf. Harvesting her Moon-Heart is simply the price you pay for opening your

legs for someone else.”

Slowly, he dropped to his knees, leaning down until his cold breath fanned against my bloody ear, delivering the final, fatal blow to my soul.

“Mia was never meant to be a person, Claire. Her entire existence was calculated for one single purpose: to die so that Dylan could awaken his true Alpha spirit.”
