Erased by Blood: The Alpha’s Lost Daughter on Trial Chapter 10

The blows kept coming, one after another.

“Mom, what’s wrong? Why are you hitting me?”

“I’m Helena—your precious Helena!”

“That’s exactly who I’m hitting, you bitch! How dare you bully my daughter Hazel?”

“How dare you frame her, hurt her, again and again?”

“I’ll kill you! Do you hear me? I’ll kill you!”

Helena scrambled to cover her head and tried to run, but she had barely taken a few steps before my father blocked her path.

He drove his foot hard into her stomach, the same way he had kicked me countless times before.

“How dare you treat my daughter like that? You deserve to die!”

The force of the blow sent Helena staggering as she coughed up blood.

She stared at my father in terror. “No, Dad, I didn’t! If Hazel did something, call her out—I’ll face her myself. She scared me so badly I tried to kill myself! Why won’t you believe me?”

“Suicide?” My father’s smile twisted with cruelty.

“Oh, right. You wanted to die. Then let me help you finish the job today.”

He kicked her again and again, each blow landing heavier than the last, until my brother and mother joined in.

Together, they beat Helena until she was vomiting blood and finally collapsed unconscious on the floor.

But they didn’t kill her. Death would have been too merciful.

Instead, they rented a basement and locked Helena inside a dog crate in the bathroom. Whenever they were angry or unhappy, they went down there and took it out on her.

And with that, the vision ended.

The Moon Mirror told me that the rogue who had once tormented me, my adoptive father, Julian, had also been captured.

He would face the punishment his crimes deserved.

And I, at last, would be free of the shadows of my past, ready to step into a new life of my own.

I withdrew money from my account and traveled to many places before finally settling by the ocean, where I joined a pack that welcomed me without prejudice.

Much later, I returned to the territory of my former pack.

That was when I saw my parents again.

Declan, unable to endure his guilt, had chosen to die with Helena. Only my parents remained.

They were barely in their forties, yet they looked like frail old people, withered and worn down.

I watched them walk along the roadside, stooped over, picking up trash as they showed my picture to strangers.

“Have you seen this girl? She’s our daughter. She ran away.”

“We just want to find her… to tell her we’re sorry.”

But every person they stopped only shook their head.

I stood watching from a distance for a long moment before finally turning away.

Sorry? I don’t need your apologies anymore.

Mom. Dad.

From now on, we’ll go our separate ways and never cross paths again.
