The Comments Said the Heartthrob Confessed Wrong, So I Rejected Him Chapter 12

She didn’t get near me.

Honestly? I didn’t need Griffin jumping in. I could handle it myself.

But of course he had to play hero.

Now the comments were really gonna tear me apart.

[I knew it. She was up to something. Our girl wouldn’t just use an alt account and set her up for no reason.]

[But what did she even do this time? She barely even talked to Griffin. Brynn holding onto the account and pulling this whole stunt-honestly, that feels like a lot.]

[A lot? Please. She hasn’t done anything yet. But with that face? You know he’s eventually. Look-he’s already jumping in to defend her!]

The confession guy grabbed his flowers and started to slip away.

I called him back.

“Stay.”

I wasn’t done clearing my name.

“Okay, for the record-I’m not Griffin’s girlfriend. Whatever the hell is going on between him and Brynn? Not my circus, not my monkeys.”

“And for the record? I gave Brynn that account two months ago. She changed the password. I’ve been chasing her for it ever since. She promised me she’d hand it over today.”

I opened my phone. Scrolled to the chat record from this morning.

It wasn’t there.

I looked up at Brynn. She was smirking.

Then it hit me.

During lunch, she’d “accidentally” knocked my phone to the floor.

She said she’d wipe the dirt off the case.

She must have deleted the messages then.

Now she was feeling bold.

“Go on. You said you had proof? Where is it?”

“Or was this all just for attention? Hoping Griffin would play knight in shining armor?”

Griffin’s voice cut through, cold and flat.

“I’ve only ever liked Sage. Brynn and I have nothing.”

“If we’re talking about attention? Brynn, you went around telling everyone you were my girlfriend. That counts, doesn’t it?”

His roommate backed him up.

“I can vouch. Griffin’s always been into Sage. Brynn just added him because she’s her roommate

and wouldn’t leave him alone.”

Brynn went pale. Tears spilled down her face. “Griffin. You knew I liked you. You knew. Why are you doing this to me?”

I stepped in front of her, cutting her off.

I didn’t have time for love triangles.

I had classes. Shifts. A future to build.

I opened my phone again.

“You deleted the chat. But I screenshot it. It’s in my hidden folder. Brynn. Anything else you want to

say?”
