Brynn hadn’t expected me to say it out loud.

She probably knew I suspected her. She just didn’t think I’d act this fast.

She recovered quick-her eyes went wet.

“Sage, what are you talking about? I borrowed your account once, yeah. But I gave it back the first time you asked. Ask them.”

She pointed to the other roommates.

They looked lost.

They’d only been there that first time. Every other conversation between Brynn and me had been private.

Brynn started crying. Messy. Pitiful.

I didn’t flinch.

Lies are lies. No amount of tears makes them true.

But Griffin stepped in front of me, blocking the crowd.
