My Best Friend Slept With My Mafia Husband Chapter 04

My Best Friend Slept With My Mafia Husband Chapter 04

Her flushed face twisted, turning ugly.

By the time I came back to myself, my hands were already around her throat.

Instead of getting angry, she laughed.

“Virelle, are you insane?”

Alarion yanked us apart.

“She’s carrying a child. Stop making a scene!”

As he spoke, an uncontrolled slap landed hard across my face.

Blood seeped from the corner of my mouth.

Only then did he seem to realize what he had done and move forward to explain.

“Virelle, that child…”

“Ismeria killed my mother. I should have gone insane long ago!” I was almost out of strength as I shoved him away.

Alarion froze, then his face darkened again.

“Your mother is fine!”

Disappointment filled Alarion’s eyes.

“Virelle, what happened to you?”

“Ismeria prepared a gift today to apologize to you. Stop making trouble.”

As soon as he finished speaking, several fierce, familiar faces walked out.

They were the men who had bullied me in college.

I stiffened where I stood.

My mind exploded with a roar.

Back then, they had stripped me naked, poured urine over me, and finally violated me.

At the time, Alarion had arrived first, carrying a baseball bat, and cut the tendons in every one of their hands.

With bloodstained fingers, he wiped away my tears.

“It’s all over.”

It took me three full years to climb out of that shadow.

I looked up in shock. “How does Ismeria know?”

Alarion guiltily looked away.

Ismeria walked toward me.

“He told me once while we were in bed. I listened to it like a bedtime story.”

All the blood in my body began to turn cold.

So the pain I could never forget for the rest of my life was only a story Alarion used to amuse her.

With red eyes, I looked at Alarion.

He avoided my gaze.

Ismeria pointed at those men and spoke with righteous anger.

“But as your best friend, I have to help you untie this knot. These bastards need to apologize to you.”

As she finished, the three men approached me with vicious smiles, each of them full of filthy intent.

“Virelle. Long time no see.”

“I remember your body wasn’t this good back then.”

“We came all this way to apologize. Don’t be scared.”

I thrashed like a madwoman.

“Get away from me! All of you, get away!”

In my struggle, I accidentally knocked Ismeria down.

Alarion rushed forward to help her up, then looked at my out-of-control state with disgust.

“Enough!”

“The child in her belly won’t affect your position. You had better stop here.”

Ismeria shook her head with perfect grace.

“Don’t blame her.”

“Virelle must be embarrassed. Let them talk properly in a private room. Once they apologize, Virelle won’t have nightmares every night anymore.”

Alarion’s eyes filled with approval.

“Fine.”

Then he ordered those men to take me to the private room upstairs.

I struggled desperately and begged him with my eyes.

“They won’t apologize…”

“Enough.” Alarion cut me off impatiently. “Don’t disappoint Ismeria again.”

“Alarion, save me—”

Before I could finish, the door shut, and a force dragged me backward.

My piercing scream made Alarion pause outside the door.

Then he shook his head to himself.

“Still acting.”

Behind the door, I clawed at the wood with all ten fingers and left ten bloody marks.

Just like before, they tore the clothes from my body and slapped me across the face.

“You want me to apologize? Fine. I’ll help you remember properly.”

I screamed and cried, my fists striking out again and again.

It was useless.

They grew more excited.

Until blood pooled beneath me.

At some point, I was the only one left in the room.

My eyes were empty.

I lay discarded on the floor like a ruined doll, blood soaking into the carpet.

I picked up a shard of porcelain from the floor and cut my wrist with all my strength.

Alarion, in this life, we will never meet again.

Three hours later, when the banquet ended, Alarion still did not agree to have dinner with Ismeria.

Instead, he quickened his steps into the elevator and went to the private room on the twentieth floor.

The door was half open.

The smell of blood drifted out.

He frowned and pushed the door open.

The scene before him made him collapse completely.
