Barren, Betrayed, But Backed By A Secret Billionaire Dad: I’ll Make Them Pay In Blood Chapter 07

“Oh, right. Madam spoke very softly before she left. She said she would never come back here again.”

“Maybe… she was just speaking out of anger?”

In that instant, Adwan felt his entire body go numb.

Was Jelena truly never coming back?

He staggered and collapsed onto the sofa.

Unwilling to give up, he called Jelena more than ten times, yet the only response was the cold, mechanical female voice.

In the past, no matter how angry Jelena was, she could never bring herself to ignore him for too long.

She would never refuse to answer his calls, not even giving him a chance to explain.

A dreadful feeling rose in Adwan’s chest.

He looked around the house, and nearly everything connected to Jelena had vanished—her slippers, their wedding photos, and even the entire set of anniversary gifts he had once given her.

“Where are those things? Did Madam take them too?”

For a moment, a sliver of hope rose in him. Could it be that Jelena could not bear to leave behind their memories?

But the maid simply pointed to the backyard.

“Madam burned them all with her own hands. By the time I went to

—

check, only ashes were left.”

Adwan slumped back against the sofa, every bit of strength drained from his body.

Finally, unable to suppress the panic in his heart, he grabbed his coat and prepared to rush out.

At that moment, Megan pushed the door open and stepped in, wearing a pitiful look.

“Adwan, my face is still swollen. You really were so cruel to me!”

Her eyes swept across the villa, and a smile she didn’t bother to hide tugged at her lips.

“So? Wasn’t I right? Jelena finally moved aside and made room for me.”

Staring at her smug expression, Adwan suddenly felt nothing but disgust.

But this wasn’t the Megan he used to know.

Although she loved her pranks, she had always treated Jelena kindly, often coming to the house to keep her company.

When had she turned into such a vile creature?

Adwan forced down his rage.

“I’ll give you three seconds. Get out.”

Megan’s stubbornness flared.

“I won’t. Jelena’s gone, isn’t she? This house needs a hostess. If not

—

me, then who else?”

Adwan shut his eyes and gave a despairing laugh.

So this was the truth. The girl he once thought pure and innocent had been scheming all along.

She had used her so-called pranks to trap Jelena, pushing her into deeper despair until she finally gave up.

And then Megan planned to take her place.

The one betrayed, the one played like a fool, was him.

Fury consumed him. He could no longer restrain himself. His hand shot out and clamped tightly around Megan’s throat, his eyes bloodshot with rage.

“Do you even realize? Jelena has already moved out!”

“And the one who drove her away, the one responsible for everything, is you, you wretched woman!”

Megan kicked and struggled, her face turning red as she gasped for breath.

“Let… let me go! Are you trying to kill me?!”

Adwan’s grip only tightened, his gaze filled with pure hatred.

Why? Why had she forced Jelena away—his beloved wife?

Megan clawed desperately at his hand, staring at him in utter disbelief.

How could the man who once held her in the palm of his hand treat

—

her with such cruelty?

But eventually, her eyes rolled back from lack of air, and she collapsed into unconsciousness.

It was only then that Adwan realized what he had done. His hand loosened slowly.

The maid rushed to call for an ambulance, but Adwan didn’t spare Megan a glance.

He picked up the phone and barked an order to his men:

“I don’t care what it takes. Find Jelena immediately. If you can’t, don’t bother showing your faces again!”

When my father learned about Adwan’s affair, his teeth ground in fury.
