My Best Friend’s Brother is My Ex Chapter 01

My Best Friend’s Brother is My Ex Chapter 01

I lied about my age and got into an online relationship with a guy six years older.

He was nothing like I expected.

He was cold and distant to everyone else, but filthy behind a screen.

When he was turned on, he’d say he wanted to be my dog.

I couldn’t handle the clinginess, so I blocked him. Clean break.

Months later, while crashing at Chloe’s, I ran into her brother.

That brooding face looked way too familiar.

Before I could place it, Chloe’s voice snapped me back.

“Don’t even think about it. My brother hates forward girls.”

“Ever since that online fling ended, he’d kick a puppy for looking at him wrong.”

My heart stopped. I blurted,”So your brother’s name is Soren Shaw?”

“Holy shit, how do you know that?”

Chloe’s jaw dropped, eyes wide.

He was cold and distant to everyone else, but filthy behind a screen.

I’d dated my best friend’s brother online and run into him six months post-breakup.

The odds were worse than the lottery.

Before I could respond, Chloe waved it off.

“Makes sense. We’re practically attached at the hip.”

“I must’ve mentioned his name at some point…”

She kept rambling, already convinced she’d slipped his name at some point.

I froze.

Just knowing Soren was under the same roof made it hard to breathe.

An hour earlier, Chloe had brought me home.

Soren had come downstairs, wearing nothing but a bathrobe.

The veins in his neck stood out—cold restraint, lazy sensuality.

He glanced at me, gave a brief nod, and that was it.

Those detached black eyes swept over me.Blank. I was just his sister’s classmate.

I’d never have connected this man to the guy from my messages.

Online, Soren was relentless—filthy talk, “baby” and “wife,” possessiveness that bordered on suffocating.

I’d been young, clueless about love, constantly flustered by him.

More than once, I’d splashed cold water on my face at 2 a.m..

“I asked, ‘So… how many relationships has your brother been in?'”

Chloe let out a short laugh.

“Just one—that online thing. He was really into her.”

“But she dumped him without looking back. Cold as ice.”

“His temper’s been absolute trash ever since.”

She patted my shoulder.

“If he acts like an asshole, just ignore it. It’s not personal—he’s an equal-opportunity jerk.”
