Bonded to the Wrong Alpha Chapter 01

Bonded to the Wrong Alpha Chapter 01

On my birthday, my partner fastened a bond bracelet around my wrist.

But my phone buzzed with an urgent message: From your future self. Got any questions?

Without hesitation, I typed: “Will I be happy with Kyle? What about Serena? We were supposed to be sisters for life.”

The reply came instantly:

“In this timeline, Kyle and Serena have been cheating on you for a year.

Everyone knows. Even your mother.

After the bonding ceremony, He’ll slip a drop of liquid silver into your milk every month.

You’ll lose three litters of pups, while they’ll raise three of their own.

And I found out all of this on the very day they celebrated ten years of their affair.”

The last line was just one sentence.

I stared at the glowing screen, trembling all over.

“Please. Don’t bond with him. My healer says I have only a month left. Don’t end up like me.”

Kyle noticed me frozen in place, his amber eyes narrowing as he leaned in. “Baby, what’s got you so spaced out?”

I snapped back. “Nothing. Just another pack inviting me to join.”

He scoffed, lazy and amused. “Of course. My girl’s too powerful—they’re late to the game; we’ve already committed to the same border patrol unit.”

I forced a smile and said nothing. Serena bounced over in a white linen dress, wildflowers tucked behind her ears.

“Elara! Let’s go take pictures.”

She hooked her arm through mine, then shot a glance at Kyle. “Kyle. If any of those photos come out blurry, I’ll bite you.” She flashed her fangs playfully.

Normally, when they bickered like this, I’d step in to smooth things over.

But today, after that message, I wanted to see what Kyle would do.

He chuckled low, reaching out to grab her wrist. “Oh yeah? I’d like to see you try.”

Serena’s fur bristled and her face flushed scarlet. She yanked her hand free with a snarl. “Keep your filthy paws off me. Come on, Elara.”

On the way to the hall, I ducked into a side room. Through the crack in the door, I heard voices.

“Kyle, this diamond bracelet you got me is gorgeous—only Alphas can buy these. Why didn’t you get one for Elara too? We’re sisters; we should match.” Serena whined.

Kyle’s voice was soft and indulgent. “Silly little thing, you know I’ve been pretending to be a rogue wolf in front of her, not an Alpha. Besides, yours is one of a kind—made just for you.”

I looked down at the simple leather band on my wrist. I stood there a long time before I pushed the door open.

At the sound of the door, Kyle yanked his hand off her waist.

That night, the Blackwood Pack gathered for the feast. Another message buzzed at my hip.

“Don’t listen to what they say. Watch what they do.”

I didn’t understand until someone suggested playing Truth or Dare.

Kyle drew a Dare card: Piggyback the second person to your left and do ten squats.

To his left was me. To my left was Serena.

The crowd watched with hungry, predatory eyes. Serena frowned. “Stupid game. Now he’s got an excuse to put his hands on me. Don’t worry, Elara—I’ll make him regret it.”

Kyle looked at me with a soft laugh. “It’s just a game, Luna. Don’t shift.”

He walked over and hoisted Serena up. They pressed close, chest to chest, her arms wrapped possessively around his neck.

After the game, Kyle muttered that she was heavy and hot and that he needed to wash off the sweat. His ears burned red.

Serena sniffed. “I feel gross too. I need to scrub his stink off me. I touched a mangy mutt.”

They left the hall one after the other, steps in sync.

Another message appeared. “You know, I found his hunting log. That night, after the feast, they never came back. They were in the room next door…

I couldn’t take it anymore. I made an excuse to follow. The others told me to wait for Kyle and Serena to come back, that it was safer with more people.

“I’m not feeling well,” I said flatly. “I’ll head back to the den first. Tell them I’ve already gone.”

They looked relieved and let me go.

As I passed the room next door, I slowed down. Through the gap in the door, I saw them.

Their mouths pressed together, tongues tangled, her hand fisting his black hair and pulling him closer. One hand gripped her thigh, the other cradled her head as he deepened the kiss.

Outside, under the pale moonlight, my phone lit up. It was my mother.

Days ago, she’d been frantically arranging transport for our post-bonding honeymoon. I hadn’t heard confirmation and assumed she was still working on it.

Now the screen read: The car only has room for me, Kyle, and Serena.

You’ll have to find your own ride.
