Isabelle still hadn’t caught on. Thinking she could still use him to intimidate me, she kept shouting.

Just then, several people in suits entered the hospital and walked straight toward us.

“Excuse me, is Gianni Marino here?”

“You are suspected of disciplinary violations, dereliction of duty, and improper conduct. You need to come with us now to cooperate with the investigation.”

Gianni was already furious. Seeing the Internal Affairs investigators, he blew up.

“Do you know who I am? You dare come after me? Don’t push it.”

“And who exactly are you planning to make suffer?”

As soon as he said it, the mayor walked out of another VIP ward.

His son was also in the hospital for follow-up checks, so he happened to witness the entire scene.

I walked over and greeted the mayor.

He nodded to me, then went straight to Gianni and Isabelle.

“The SWAT officer you almost got killed?”
