Betrayed On My Wedding Eve Chapter 30

Then the world came back all at once.

I hit the floor like something enormous had swatted me from above.

Blood came up from my lungs.

Smoke everywhere.

Something wet on my face.

I touched it. My whole palm came back red.

Julian had been thrown.

He was a few feet away.

I tried to stand. Couldn’t.

I crawled to him. Shaking. Checked for breath.

He was alive.

More shooting, somewhere.

I got him onto my back and ran.

Armed men in every direction.

I cut into the trees.

I ran until my legs went numb.

I fell.

Julian came around.

He tried to get up. Couldn’t move.

“Lena. Go. Leave me.”

I couldn’t stop the sound coming out of me. I forced myself back up.

“No.

“We go together.”

He grabbed my ankle.

“Go. Get help. Two people can’t make it.”

I was completely broken.

“We made a promise! You can’t do this!

“If you die, I will haunt you!”

He laughed softly.

It turned into coughing, blood in his mouth.

“I… won’t break the promise.

“Liars… are dogs…”

I got him propped against a tree.

Crying without stopping.

He squeezed my hand.

“Go. Fast.”

“You won’t let me die. Will you?”

I scrubbed my face with my sleeve.

“You wait for me. I’m coming back. You’ll be okay.

“You have to be okay.”

He raised a hand. Waved.

“Okay.”
