Perfect Wife No More: I Unleashed Hell Chapter 06 Does He Still Love Me?

Arthur came back quickly after getting my message.

It was like he had turned back into the boy who once loved me.

He cooked for me himself, carefully picking out every gift.

He even said “I love you” over and over, without getting tired of it.

If it were me back then, I’d be crying from how touched I felt.

But now, I just accepted everything calmly.

Arthur seemed unable to accept this version of me.

He started breaking down. “Evelyn, what the hell are you thinking?

“I’ve already swallowed my pride… so why are you still like this?

“You’re the one who deceived me first…”

When I didn’t respond again, he turned and slammed the bedroom door shut.

Vivian, who hadn’t been able to reach Arthur for days, finally lost her patience.

She couldn’t handle the fact that the favoritism he once gave her was now gone because of me.

So she knocked on my door and barged in before I could even invite her.

She plopped down on the couch like she owned the place.

I asked calmly, “Here for Arthur?”

She glared at me, eyes full of resentment. “Also here for you.”

I nodded and poured her a glass of water.

She didn’t take it and just watched me warily.

She said, “Evelyn, are you really that dumb or just pretending?

“Can’t you see I’m here for the Mrs. Harrington spot?”

Of course, I saw it. She wasn’t even trying to hide it.

I’d mentioned divorce more than once, but every time, Arthur managed to steer the conversation away.

I couldn’t read his mind, so I just kept playing the perfect partner.

I pressed my lips together and then said, “If you can get him to agree to the divorce, I won’t oppose it.”

“Evelyn!” Vivian’s face changed instantly.

She slammed the table and knocked over her glass.

Even though she wasn’t showing yet, I instinctively blocked the cup of hot water.

“Calm down. Watch the baby,” I said.

I held back the burning pain in my hand and heard her sharp voice. “Playing the saint?

“Showing off Arthur’s favoritism for you?

“What a joke! If he really loved you, how would I be the one who got pregnant?”

I stared into Vivian’s tearful eyes, full of doubt.

I wasn’t sure if Arthur still loved me.

But I was certain he didn’t love Vivian.

“So, do you think he loves you?” I asked.

Vivian lifted her head proudly, but her hands were trembling slightly. “If he didn’t love me, why would he keep being with me?

“He made me carry his child… that’s proof he loves me.”

I quietly watched her, unsure whether to pity the way she measured love.

I said, “If that’s how you see it… Maybe he does love you.

“Though by that standard… he’s loved a lot of people.”

My words seemed to trigger her. Vivian suddenly clutched her belly and screamed.

Her scream caught Arthur’s attention.
