Life Reset Don’t Love Me With Your Betrayal, Don Chapter 04

I turned to look at her. She pulled out a chair and sat down, a taunting smirk on her face.

“Ethan was the one who changed your college application five years ago.”

Shock crashed over me.

“What are you talking about?”

She chuckled softly.

It was never Samantha, his younger sister, who tampered with your college application.

That was just a lie he made up. He changed your acceptance from Stanford University to Boston College himself.

I watched him do it with my own eyes.

Memories flooded back all at once.

After I took my SAT exams, I had trusted Ethan enough to let him submit my college applications for Stanford. I was devastated when my acceptance letter arrived and I saw I had been placed into Boston College, the same school Ethan attended.

I had suspected he was behind it back then.

I knew how much getting into Stanford meant to me. As someone from an ordinary family, getting into that top university was my greatest dream, my chance to change my future. Why would he hurt me like that?

I had gone straight to the Walker mansion to confront him. Samantha had dropped to her knees in tears before me.

“I’m so sorry, Olivia. I didn’t want you to be far away from us, so I changed your school choice. Please forgive me.”

I could not bring myself to blame the young girl.

Ethan had sent Samantha overseas right after that and cut off all her funds. Then he had apologized to me with his head bowed.

“I’ve punished her severely. This is all my fault.”

Seeing how harshly Samantha had been treated, I had no reason to keep arguing. I told myself it was fine to attend the same school as him and let the matter drop.

I finally knew the whole truth now. It had all been a carefully staged act by Ethan from the very start.

The man I had thought respected my dreams had chosen betrayal instead. He had stolen my future just to keep me by his side.

Sophia smiled triumphantly and left the room.

I sat on the hospital bed from dusk until dawn, motionless. It felt as if a huge piece of my heart had been torn out and taken away.

Ethan walked in soon after, carrying breakfast. He set the food down carefully, acting as if nothing was wrong. His devotion felt disgustingly fake.

“Why did you do it?” My voice was hoarse.

Ethan looked up, confused.

“Do what?”

“Why did you change my college application?”

His hands froze mid-movement. He stayed quiet for a moment before speaking.

“Who told you about this?”

“Does it even matter?”

“Why are you so upset over this? Don’t you want to stay with me? You don’t need to go to Stanford anyway. The entire Walker Group and this family will all be yours one day. I just wanted you to stay close and avoid all that hard work. What’s wrong with that?”

I swiped the breakfast tray off the table in a fit of rage. Food and hot coffee spilled all over his clothes. I shook my head, consumed by fury.

“Ethan, that was my life! You know how hard I worked to get into Stanford! Who gave you the right to make choices for me?”

The scalding coffee soaked his shirt, but he did not even flinch. He spoke as if his actions were completely justified.

“I did it because I love you.”

I hung my head and laughed bitterly, every sound dripping with sorrow.

“Love? You call this love? Loving me while you’re with another woman? Loving me by forcing me to raise your illegitimate child? How dare you use the word love after ruining my life? Your so-called love is cruel beyond words.”

His pupils trembled violently.

“Calm down.”

His lips tightened, and his expression turned cold and unfamiliar.

“I’ve already started planning our wedding again. I want you to forget all of this and move on with me peacefully. I’ve already invited your family. If you don’t want your parents to be embarrassed, be at the venue the day after tomorrow. Don’t make me use the family’s power against you.”

He spoke in the cold negotiating tone the mafia always used.

“I know you don’t truly want to leave me, Olivia. Be sensible. Don’t make a mess for everyone.”

He turned and walked away without another word.

Silence filled the hospital room. I let out a hollow laugh. Hatred and resentment burned bright in my eyes when I opened them again.

He tried to threaten me with my family. It would never work.

I picked up my phone and called my parents. I told them I was leaving the country to study abroad and asked them to block all contact with Ethan.

As the plane took off that evening, I severed every tie I had with Ethan for good.

I smirked to myself. I had left a big surprise waiting for him at the wedding the day after tomorrow.

I hoped Ethan would enjoy his wedding gift.
