I am the sole heir to the United Pack Kingdom.

All the moon blossoms bloomed the very day I was born.

I am a white wolf, a rarity that appears once in a hundred years. Everyone says I will lead this kingdom to new glory.

Seven promised mates serve me. They will do anything I ask without hesitation.

Damian Blackwood is the only one who acts like an eternal iceberg. He has never given me a single kind look.

Still, I cannot help but crave his scent and his unruly spirit. I loved him with all my heart, and he swore to become my mate.

Yet he never laid a hand on me.

I told myself he was just old-fashioned, and things would change once we made the bond.

Then one day, I saw Damian pin Selina Blackwood against a wall and kiss her deeply.

Selina was his so-called blood sister.

It finally hit me. He simply had no warmth for me.

I walked into my father’s study and spoke in a firm tone.

“Father, I’ve made up my mind. I’m going to marry Asher Knight.”

My father jumped up in shock, losing all the poise a king should have.

“Have you lost your mind? Marry that cold-blooded creature?”

He grabbed his scepter in anger.

“Send word to Asher Knight at once! I’ll wage war and crush his kingdom! That bastard dared to sneak in and toy with your heart behind my back!”

“Your seven promised mates are useless too. Not a single one of them managed to win your affection.”

He paused for a moment, his face twisting with confusion.

“Wait a minute. I thought your heart belonged to Damian.”

I fell silent.

“Even if you don’t want Damian, what about the other six? I took them into the palace when they were young and poured millions of dollars into raising them every year. They obey your every command. Any one of them is a hundred times better than Asher Knight.”

A bitter smile tugged at my lips.

Just the day before, I’d believed the six other promised mates were head over heels for me. I thought they would even rip out their own hearts if I asked.

But last night, I stumbled upon their secret party. I heard them mocking my foolishness.

“Aurora’s such an idiot. When will she finally figure out Selina isn’t even Damian’s real sister?”

The one speaking was Silas, another of my promised mates. Everyone knew him as a devoted man who once jumped off a building for me.

Now he swirled whiskey in his glass and sneered.

“She definitely thinks I’m madly in love with her. I didn’t jump off that building to confess my feelings. I did it to scare her off.”

“Same here. I have to act nice to her even though it makes my skin crawl. I know she hates guys who fawn over her.”

“Ha! We all used the same trick. We pretend to be whatever she dislikes, so she’ll never pick us. Then we can all compete fairly for Selina.”

“Damian never put on an act. Now that fool Aurora has fallen for him. I almost feel bad for the guy.”

“Someone has to claim Aurora in the end, no matter what.”

Trembles of rage ran through my body as I listened.

My wolf, Snow, was furious too.

“I don’t like them any more than you do.”

Snow and I have grown up side by side. We have never found our fated mate.

That was why my father adopted seven Alpha blooded wolves to be my promised mates. Whoever won my heart would rule the kingdom alongside me.

My mother passed away long ago. Father loved her deeply and never took another mate after her.

I was his only heir.

Worried I could not run the kingdom alone, he handpicked seven strong Alphas to stand by my side as promised mates.

Damian was the smartest, the most handsome among them all. Father cared for him more than the rest.

He was the last survivor of a fallen pack.

When the adoption papers were being processed, Damian spoke up.

“I have a little sister named Selina. I will not leave her behind. If you take me in, you have to take her too.”
