“You said to move them, Sir.”

“The doctors said her chances were slim!”

The scene was so ugly the families never spoke again.

But Jason never stopped looking.

The first night in Canada, it snowed.

Outside the window, the pines were covered in white.

I rested at Leonard’s villa.

Leonard’s daughter, Lynn, patted her chest in relief.

“Thank God you left, sis. Who knows what that psycho would’ve put

you through.”

I looked at the snow and sighed.

Yeah. Without all that mess, I finally felt at peace.

Then came the day of the surgery. On the way to the OR, I suddenly felt scared.

I grabbed Leonard’s sleeve.

“Uncle, if I survive… can I live with you from now on?”

He’d heard what happened back home. How they all treated her.

He wanted her to have a clean break from the past.

“Yes. I promise. After the surgery, I’ll take you to change your name.”

“Lynn. It means hope.”

His daughter was about to cry.

“Stella… you still owe me a meal…”
