He Said Don’t Wait, So I Married Someone Else Chapter 21

Inside weren’t documents, but a series of subfolders with chillingly descriptive names.
“Garrett_Verbal_Abuse_Recordings,” he said, clicking one open.
A video feed from my old apartment’s Ring camera filled the screen. In the silent footage, Garrett stood on my doorstep, his face contorted in rage, yelling at me through the door because I hadn’t answered his texts fast enough. The date stamp read October 15 of last year.
Noah didn’t play the audio. He just let the image hang there before opening another folder.
“SMS_Evidence_Garrett_vs_Maya.”
It was a PDF, a meticulously compiled record of our text exchanges. Every time he’d used “Sloane needs me” to cancel, every time he’d accused me of “not being understanding,” while my own replies were calm and measured. He’d even highlighted Garrett’s most insulting phrases.
My stomach churned.
“And this.” He opened one last folder, a spreadsheet of call logs. “Every time you called Jenna in tears after a fight with him. The time, the date, the duration. I told you two years ago to start keeping a record.”
A wave of dizziness washed over me. I stumbled back, my hand hitting the cold leather spine of a book.
