He Laughed at My Tears, Now He Cries Alone Chapter 15

The two older men exchanged a look, both finding it hard to believe.

“Isn’t Claire Monroe just some woman from a small town?”

“How could she possibly have the resources to command bodyguards like that?”

“Pull up the surveillance footage.”

“I want to see it.”

Before long, an assistant hurried over with a laptop.

“Sir, the video is ready.”

Mr. Lawson leaned in to watch, still fuming.

“I want to see exactly what this Claire Monroe has been hiding—”

He stopped mid-sentence.

Mr. Vance fell silent, too.

On the screen, Morgan’s fiery red hair was unmistakable.

“What’s wrong with you two?”

Derek looked at their stunned reactions, completely confused.

Derek pointed at Morgan on the screen. “Who is she?”

“She’s one of the most powerful figures in the Midwest.”

“The Fosters are one of Chicago’s four founding families.”

“And at the very top of that pyramid is the Monroe family.”

“The current heads of those families are not people you can provoke.”

“Derek, you dared to cross her?”

Derek’s eyes widened.

“What?”

“That red-haired woman is the head of the Foster family?”

“Then what about Claire?”

“She’s a Monroe.”

“You figure it out.”

This time, Derek was rendered completely speechless.

“Monroe?”

“Could she be…”
