My Billionaire Built An Empire For Me Then Broke My Face For Her Chapter 11

When I woke up the next morning, I picked up my phone.

My timeline was completely flooded. The top ten trending tags on X were entirely about me:

Evelyn Sterling’s True Identity Exposed

Evelyn Sterling is the Heiress to the Sterling Empire

The Real Reason Behind Evelyn’s Retirement from Hollywood

Julian Blackwood and Chloe’s Scandal

I tapped on the first link. It was a viral thread by a prominent pop-culture blogger, detailing everything from my family background to my entry into the entertainment industry. It covered my signing with Blackwood Media, Chloe’s sudden appearance, and every sordid detail of Julian and Chloe’s affair.

The comment section was already in an absolute uproar.

[Julian and Chloe are both monsters. Absolute scum.]

[When Chloe issued her apology video, Blackwood Media used her as a scapegoat to save their own skins while staying perfectly hidden. Truly disgusting.]

[To think our Oscar-winning actress was treated this way by the person closest to her… my heart breaks for her.]

[I bullied Evelyn online before. I am so deeply sorry. I deserve all the hate.]

[Please come back, Evelyn! Don’t let people like them force you out of Hollywood.]

[We were so wrong about you, Evelyn. We’re sorry.]

I posted a brief message thanking everyone for their support, but I made it clear I wasn’t returning to acting. I had bigger priorities—like preparing for my wedding to John.

The wedding had been in the works for over six months, and it was almost overwhelmingly grand. A union between the Stirlings and the Duponts was monumental; just having both names on the same guest list was enough to keep high society gossiping for years.

On the day of the wedding, I walked down the aisle, holding onto my father’s arm as I took each step toward John. Just then, a commotion erupted near the entrance.

“Mr. Blackwood, you cannot enter! You are not on the VIP list…”

Despite the security team’s protests, Julian managed to push his way inside. He looked completely hollowed out, his eyes sunken deep into dark circles as if he hadn’t slept in days. Standing right by the velvet ropes at the back of the aisle, staring at John and me, his face was a portrait of bitter regret and desperation.

“Evelyn, I know I messed up. Chloe and I got exactly what we deserved… I’ve lost absolutely everything.”

Word had already reached me that, in a desperate attempt to appease the fury of both the Sterling and Dupont families, Blackwood Media had officially disowned him.

Julian lunged forward, trying desperately to drop to his knees, but he

was immediately pinned down by two massive security guards.

“Please!” he begged, his voice cracking as he strained against their grip. “For the sake of our past, forgive me.”

The entire venue fell dead silent. Everyone was waiting for my reaction. I stared down at the man struggling on the floor. This was the same arrogant man who had once tried to teach me a lesson through physical abuse, now reduced to a pathetic, broken mess.

A faint smile touched my lips. “Not everyone deserves forgiveness.” I tilted my head slightly, looking down at him. “Don’t you agree, Mr. Vance?”

Before Julian could utter another word, John stepped smoothly in front of me, shielding me from view without breaking his calm demeanor. “Security. Escort him out.”

Julian was grabbed by the arms and dragged away. Right before he disappeared through the doors, he glanced back at me. His eyes were bloodshot, his lips trembling as he mouthed something silently, but ultimately, no sound came out.

John gently took my hand, and together, we continued walking up the aisle. During the ring exchange, I noticed his fingers trembling ever so slightly against mine.

After the ceremony ended and the last of the guests had departed, I sat in our suite wiping off my makeup when John knocked softly and stepped inside.

He took a deep breath, looking as though he had been mentally rehearsing this moment for hours. “If you only agreed to marry me to escape him, you can leave whenever you want. I won’t hold you back.”

I blinked, caught off guard.

Stealing a quick, hopeful glance at me, John added softly, “But if you don’t hate me… maybe we could just take it one day at a time? Let me show you what I can offer.” He paused, his voice dropping to a sincere whisper. “I will treat you well. As well as it takes until you fall in love with me.”

I stayed quiet for a moment, letting the silence stretch. “John, I don’t think we need to force the romance.”

His eyes immediately dimmed, and he forced a gentle, resigned smile. “Okay. I understand…”

I couldn’t help but burst into laughter. “Because I’m already starting to like you.”
