When He Said I Was The Replacement, I Said Finally Chapter 01

My boyfriend of one year suddenly told me that I was actually a stand-in for his ex-girlfriend.

Now that his ex was back, he wanted to break up with me.

Of course I agreed happily. Finally, I didn’t have to pretend anymore!

Today was the weekly date with Yves.

As usual, I dressed up and arrived at the dating restaurant right on time, but was surprised to find that he got here earlier than me.

After all, we’d been together for a year, and it had always been me waiting for him.

I felt a little uneasy, worried that he would blame me for being late.

“Sorry, I think I’m late. There was a traffic jam on the road.” I made a lame excuse.

Yves Stuart, who had always been cold and impatient with me, actually smiled gently. “It’s okay, the timing is perfect, you’re not late.”

Not only that, he also took out an exquisite gift box and handed it to me. “Take a look, do you like it?”

This guy was suddenly being so nice to me—who knew if there was a trick behind it.

“Am… am I in trouble? Did I do something wrong?” I asked tentatively.

Yves froze for a moment, then laughed. “Why are you so nervous? You’re my girlfriend. Isn’t it normal for me to give you a gift?”

Giving a gift to a girlfriend was normal, but he never cared about me as his girlfriend, and of course he never prepared a gift for me carefully.

Yves was very suspicious. He always believed that all women who got close to him were after his money, including me.

So he tested me often. I’d always stayed firm and never fallen for his temptations, which was how I earned a little trust to stay by his side.

“Go on, take it. It’s really for you. After all, today is the first anniversary of us being together.”

My body stiffened. I never thought he would actually remember the anniversary! I even forgot it myself!

I reacted quickly, glanced at him shyly, and said, “I didn’t expect you to remember this. I thought you never cared about these formalities, so I didn’t prepare a gift for you…”

Yves didn’t mind at all. “It’s okay, no need to prepare. Let’s eat.”

This meal was incredibly harmonious. Yves kept serving me food, refilling my water, and even wiping my mouth for me—looking every bit a gentle, loving boyfriend.

I was full of doubts. What on earth was this guy planning? Could he be trying to sleep with me?!

As soon as this thought popped up, I was instantly shocked, racking my brain trying to figure out how to get out of it.

After finishing the meal, I put down my cutlery and was just about to make an excuse to leave when I heard Yves say gently and solemnly, “Elena, let’s break up.”

I completely lost control of my expression, opened my mouth wide, and let out a ridiculous sound. “Huh?”

A flicker of guilt flashed in Yves’ eyes. “Actually, the reason I got together with you at the beginning was because you look a lot like my ex-girlfriend.

“Later, it was because you have a good personality—you never make a scene, and getting along with you is pretty easy and comfortable. But she came back recently. After thinking carefully, I think I still love her. So, I’m sorry.”
