The Don’s Regret: His Obedient Donna Is the Lost Heiress! Chapter 06

The Don’s Regret: His Obedient Donna Is the Lost Heiress! Chapter 06

Alarion snapped back to his senses and strode down the stairs.

He ripped open the envelope. A card fell out, followed by a small piece of paper.

Alarion picked up the paper. When he saw what was written on it, his pupils blew wide and his body locked up.

It was an ultrasound report. It clearly said: [6 weeks early pregnancy.]

And on the back of the report, in Virelle’s handwriting.

[I got rid of the baby. The money you’ve given me over the years is still in the card, I haven’t spent a cent of it.]

[Alarion, we’re even now.]

“This can’t be… this is impossible!”

Alarion stared at the pregnancy report, his eyes bloodshot.

He crumpled the paper into a ball violently, then frantically smoothed it back out, trying to find any sign it was fake.

But there was nothing. It couldn’t have been more real.

Virelle was pregnant.

And then, she got rid of their child with her own hands, and left without a trace!

“Get the car! Go to St. Aurelia Clinic!”

Alarion roared at the butler, his voice raw and terrifying.

Half an hour later, the black Maybach pulled up in front of the clinic.

The guards with him quickly cleared the entire hallway.

“Pull the records! Where’s Virelle? Was she here?”

Dr. Elian trembled as he came forward, staring at the red-eyed man in front of him.

“Don Morvane, Miss Sanzaro did have painless abortion surgery here yesterday.”

“She’s naturally weak, she needs to rest after surgery—how could you let her run around like this?”

Alarion was crushed. He stumbled back a step, hitting the doorframe hard.

“She really… got rid of it?”

“Yes.”

Dr. Elian’s voice held pity.

“Miss Sanzaro left very determinedly. She didn’t even ask for general anesthesia.”

Alarion felt a pain in his chest so sharp he couldn’t breathe.

She was pregnant—why didn’t she tell him?

If he’d known she was carrying his child, he never would have postponed the wedding, never would have given the venue to Ismeria.

He would have laid the best things in the whole world at her feet.

But she said nothing.

She watched him run around for Ismeria, watched him postpone the wedding with the excuse of a rival family ambush, watched him put the bracelet that belonged to her on another woman’s wrist.

And then she said nothing. She went to the hospital alone, signed the consent form alone, got up on the operating table alone.

She never even let him know how much it hurt.

“Don, Ismeria’s out here yelling to see you.”

Alarion spun around sharply. The look in his eyes was so cold Nico automatically closed his mouth.

He strode back into the ward.

Ismeria was throwing a fit on the bed, knocking the medicine the nurse brought her onto the floor.

Alarion looked at the mess all over the floor, and a memory suddenly flashed through his mind.

Virelle standing by the trash can, dumping her entire plate of food into the garbage without a sound.

There had been no anger on her face back then, just calm.

So that was how she’d said goodbye to him, back then.

And what had he done? He’d just thought she was throwing a tantrum.

“Alarion, you’re finally here!”

Ismeria immediately put on a hurt expression, holding out her hand to him.

“I was so scared, where were you just now?”

Alarion didn’t go over to comfort her like he usually did. He stood three paces from the bed, staring at her coldly.

“Does low blood sugar require you to break things?”

Ismeria froze, her hand hanging in midair awkwardly before she lowered it.

“Alarion, you… why are you talking to me like this?”

“Ismeria.”

Alarion’s voice held no warmth at all.

“You know damn well whether you’re actually sick or not.”

Ismeria’s face drained of all color immediately.

“I indulged you because you took a drink for me once years ago. But that’s not an excuse for you to keep pushing your luck.”

Alarion stepped to the bedside, grabbed her wrist without hesitation, pushed the clasp open with his long finger, and slid the Donna heirloom bracelet off her wrist.

The motion wasn’t rough, you could even call it calm.

But that bone-deep indifference was more terrifying than any violence.

Ismeria froze in place, she even forgot to cry.

Alarion crumpled the bracelet in his palm. The sharp edges of the diamonds cut into his skin, but he couldn’t feel any pain.

“Starting today, your medical coverage is canceled. Move out of the apartment in the south tomorrow.

“All protection for the Veyra family within Morvane territory is revoked.

“Don’t ever show your face in front of me again.”

With that, he turned and left without a second thought.

“Alarion! You can’t do this to me! You said you’d protect me! You promised!”

Ismeria screamed desperately behind him, but Alarion didn’t slow his steps for a single second.

Back in the car, Alarion leaned back against the seat exhausted.

He opened his palm. The Donna heirloom bracelet lay still in the middle of the bloodstains.

The piece that should have been on Virelle’s wrist, now stained with his blood, and it would never wash away the trace Ismeria left on it.

“Find her.”

Nico immediately straightened up in the passenger seat.

“Use every channel the Morvane family has.”

Alarion opened his eyes, and his gaze was full of suppressed, manic madness.

“Check ports, airports, private terminals, family jets, underground

banks, every exit record.

“Find out what country Virelle went to, what city, who she’s meeting.”

Nico hesitated for a moment.

“Don, what if someone’s really covering her tracks behind Miss Sanzaro’s back…”

Alarion spoke each word slowly.

“Then find that person too.

“Even if I have to turn the whole world upside down, I’m bringing her back to me.”
