The Body Swap That Made Her a Billionaire—and Me Awake Chapter 10

When the light faded and the basement went dim again, Evelyn slowly opened her eyes.

Her vision was clear. Her body no longer felt heavy.

She looked down at her hands.

Her own hands.

She touched her face.

She was back.

A bloodcurdling scream echoed from the corner of the cell. Lena writhed on the floor screaming like a wounded beast trapped in a trap, clawing at her face-now covered in red welts from the hex’s backlash. She stared at the fresh cuts on her wrists, completely unhinged.

“My face! Why is my face back?” She scrabbled at the dried blood circle, trying to cast the spell again. But

the ritual had lost all its power.

The warlock stared in disbelief, then dropped to his knees. “It’s a genuine miracle! Virtue always prevails over

wickedness.”

Kayden slowly loosened his grip on Evelyn. He looked at her-her real face, the one he hadn’t seen in three

months.

His fingers trembled as he touched her cheek, as if she were a priceless treasure he’d just gotten back.

“Evelyn…” His voice was hoarse, his eyes glistening.

“I’m here. I’m back.” She took his hand, tears streaming down her face.

Arthur Hatfield hobbled into the cell with his cane, surrounded by guards. One look at Evelyn-restored-and Lena-raving on the floor-told him everything.

“This is unforgivable wickedness!” He shook with rage and pointed at Lena. “Drag this vicious wretch away from my eyes at once.”

The guards moved forward and ragged Lena away like a sack of garbage.

“Let me go! Mr. Hatfield, I’m Evelyn! You’ve got the wrong person!” Lena kept fighting, desperate.

“Wait.”

Kayden stepped forward, shielding Evelyn behind him. He looked down at Lena like she was trash.

He turned to his assistant. “Drake, get rid of her. Send her to that Russian oligarch. I hear he’s got a private

prison in Siberia where people disappear. Tell him she’s payment for past favors. I don’t want to see her face

again.”

“Send Lena to him. For free.”

“Tell him to make sure she never comes back.”

Lena’s face went white. She collapsed to the floor, screaming.

“No! I won’t go to Russia! You can’t do this to me! Evelyn, save me! I’m sorry! Please!”

She reached out to Evelyn, trying one last time to guilt her.

Evelyn watched coldly, without a trace of sympathy.

Lena had chosen her path, and now she had to walk it.

Her screams faded as the guards dragged her away, finally disappearing beyond the manor gates.

The basement fell quiet.

Arthur looked at the two of them, sighed heavily, and turned to leave without a word. He knew his grandson was gone for this woman, and there was no changing that.

Kayden turned to face Evelyn.

Then, in front of every stunned guard in the room, the heir of the Hatfield empire dropped to one knee.

He pulled a small velvet box from his inner pocket and opened it. Inside sat a massive pink diamond, glittering in the dim light.

“Evelyn Blake.”

He looked up at her, his eyes soft and full of love.

“You pulled me out of hell three months ago. You saved my life. I’ll never be able to make up for all the pain and tears you’ve endured these past three months.”

“Let me spend the rest of my life protecting you. Will you be my wife?”

She clapped a hand over her mouth, sobbing, and nodded.

He slipped the ring onto her finger, then pulled her into his arms and kissed her.

The comment section turned into a shower of pink flower petals.

[This is the perfect ending. Best couple of the year.]

[He’s loved her through every tough turn of their story.]

[Their mutual love is everything.]

Epilogue – Three Years Later

Inside the sprawling Hatfield manor, the setting sun painted the endless rose fields gold and red.

Evelyn, six months pregnant, lounged on a garden swing. Kayden had taken off his suit jacket and knelt beside her in a white dress shirt, holding a bowl of warm soup, carefully lifting a spoon to her lips.

“Easy. It’s hot.”

She swallowed the soup, then looked up at his face-still handsome, but softer now, less sharp, more human. She reached out and pinched his cheek.

“Hey,” she said softly.

He tensed immediately, setting the bowl down. “What’s wrong? Is the baby kicking?”

She shook her head and smiled. “What do you think would have happened if I hadn’t felt sorry for Lena that day? If I hadn’t taken you home?”

Kayden paused.

Then he took her hand and pressed his cheek against her palm.

“There’s no what-if.”

A breeze blew through the garden, carrying the scent of roses.

She smiled and held up her pinky-just like she had on those long, lonely nights three years ago-and curled

it around his.

He hooked his back, tighter than ever.

Their pinkies locked together, holding on as if they would never let go.
