From Grieving Mother to Mafia Queen Chapter 07: “You destroyed everything”

Vincent squeezed the phone, then booted the door open.

Sophia was feeding Tommy fruit. Perfect little happy family.

“Vincent? What’s wrong?” Sophia gave him that worried look.

Vincent didn’t say a word. He went straight for her throat.

“Talk. What the hell are these texts?” His eyes were bloody red. “Why’d you torture Serafina like that?”

Tommy started bawling.

Sophia fought him. “Vincent… you crazy? I don’t know what-”

“Still lying?” Vincent shoved the phone in her face. “You sent this vile sh*t!”

Sophia went pale as death. “I was just messing around… I didn’t think she’d take it seriously…”

“Messing around?” Vincent tightened his grip. “You said my son’s death was a good thing. That’s a joke to you?”

Sophia was choking, clawing at his hand. “I’m sorry… I screwed up…”

Vincent let go. She hit the floor, hacking and coughing.

“And these pictures….” Vincent’s voice dripped with rage. “When’d you take ’em?”

“I… just wanted a souvenir…” Sophia shook.

“A souvenir?” Vincent laughed ugly. “My son wasn’t even in the ground yet. You took sex pics of us and texted them to my wife? That’s a souvenir?”

Sophia knew she was cooked. She started begging like crazy. “Vincent, I really love you…. I was just so jealous of her…”

Vincent lost it. He grabbed a chair and smashed it into Sophia’s leg.

Crack. The bone broke. Nasty sound.

Soph

Sophia screamed and collapsed.

Tommy lost his mind. “Daddy! Don’t hurt Mommy!”

He grabbed Sophia, eyes full of terror.

Sophia held Tommy and begged. “Vincent, please… for Tommy’s sake… he’s your son too…”

That just poured gas on Vincent’s rage. This little bastard killed Sonny. Sophia set all this up for this brat.

“My son?” Vincent sneered, walking toward Tommy. “My son’s dead. Your son killed him.”

You destroyed everything

He ripped Tommy out of Sophia’s arms.

“No!” Sophia tried to stop him. Her busted leg wouldn’t let her.

Vincent gave Tony a cold look. “Take him to the worst slums in the south. Let him rot there.”

“You got it, boss.”

Tony and the guards dragged Tommy out.

“Daddy! I want Daddy!” Tommy screamed, his little hands reaching. Vincent didn’t look back.

“Vincent! He’s innocent!” Sophia shrieked. “You can’t do this!”

“Innocent?” Vincent turned, eyes empty. “The second he pushed Sonny into that river, he was done.”

Tommy gone. Just Vincent and Sophia.

Vincent walked toward her slowly. “Now you.”

He grabbed her hair and hauled her out. She screamed bloody murder.

“Help! Somebody help me!” Nobody moved.

Vincent dragged her to the basement torture room.

“Know this place?” Vincent looked around. “Used to be for traitors. Never thought I’d use it on you.”

Sophia saw the tools and trembled. “Vincent… we had a thing… please, for old times’ sake…”

“Old times?” Vincent took down a whip. “When you killed my son, did you think about old times? When you tortured my wife, did you think about her?”

The whip cracked.

“You destroyed my family. You destroyed my wife. You destroyed everything.”

No mercy in Vincent’s eyes. “Now you pay.”

“No… Vincent… I was wrong… I know I was wrong…”

Vincent wasn’t listening.

Sophia’s screams echoed through that torture room.
