She Vowed to Kill Him for Me, Then Helped Him Propose to Another Woman Chapter 08

The two of them started fighting, claws out and tempers flaring.

During the struggle, the picture frame fell from Sloane’s hand and shattered on the floor, the jagged shards slicing across the faces of all three people in the photo.

As if the past had finally been cut beyond repair.

They stared blankly at the photo on the floor.

A choked sob was the first sound to break the silence.

“Damn it. This is all your fault.”

“If you hadn’t hired those thugs to hurt Claire, she never would’ve left.”

“And what about you? Weren’t you standing right there, doing nothing to protect her?”

“Damn it, it was that stupid idea. Who the hell came up with…”

Sloane’s words stopped abruptly.

The two of them looked at each other.

At the same time, they thought of Vivienne.

This time, they did not keep fighting.

They went downstairs together, got in the car, and drove to the hospital.

In the hospital room, Vivienne was lying comfortably in bed.

When Grant and Sloane pushed the door open, surprise lit up her face.

“Grant, Sloane, you’re here.”

“Yeah.”

After that one short word, Sloane’s expression darkened.

“Vivienne, don’t you think it was too much, making Grant treat Claire that way?”

Vivienne froze for a second before her eyes immediately filled with tears.

“I’m sorry. My depression relapsed at the time. I wasn’t thinking clearly. I didn’t know what I was doing.”

Grant sighed.

“Forget it. It wasn’t really Vivienne’s fault.”

“Claire was too fragile.”

“One little thing, and suddenly she was filing for divorce and moving away.”

Vivienne heard that and hid the smug curve of her lips.

“Grant, that was never what I wanted.”

“I came to join your family, not break it apart.”

Grant rubbed his brow in irritation and did not comfort her.

Then his phone buzzed in his pocket.

It was an urgent notice from the PR department.

His eyes swept over the messages one by one.

Then his face twisted with rage.

He hurled the phone at Vivienne.

“Look what you did.”

Vivienne cried out in pain and covered her forehead, shock and confusion written in her eyes.

Sloane picked up the phone from the floor and looked at it.

At first, she frowned.

Then her eyes widened.

By the end, she looked like fire might come out with every breath.

Vivienne could no longer pretend to be sick. She snatched the phone from Sloane’s hand.

When she saw what was on the screen, her whole body trembled, and her face went white.

Trending topics were tearing apart everything she had done.

Vivienne sobbed and reached for Grant’s arm.

“No, none of this is true.”

“It must be Claire. She must have hired someone to frame me.”

Sloane punched Vivienne across the face.

“I hurt Claire for a bitch like you?”

“I’ll kill you myself.”

Her fists rained down on Vivienne, blow after blow.

Vivienne screamed and begged.

Grant only looked coldly at the woman he had once loved.

All he felt now was disgust.

By the time Sloane stopped, Vivienne’s face was swollen beyond recognition.

She opened her mouth, still wanting to explain, only for Grant to kick her off the bed.

“As of right now, you’re fired.”

“Pack your things and get out.”

“As for the jewelry, the properties, and the money I transferred to you, I’ll have my lawyers recover every last cent.”

“You don’t deserve anything that belongs to me.”
