Alpha Family Put Their Princess on Trial Chapter 04

Alpha Family Put Their Princess on Trial Chapter 04

She called the maid to take away the dirty rug, then led me to the bathroom to clean up.

Up to this point, everything between Natalia and me still seemed perfectly fine.

She had protected my fragile pride. I was so grateful to her.

But then the bedroom door opened again, and Natalia came running out — red-eyed, sobbing, hysterical.

Tristan, Evelyn, and Callum heard the commotion and rushed over to her. “Giselle, what happened?”

Natalia clutched her bruised arm and wailed, “Father, Mother, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have made that cake for Giselle. If I hadn’t, she wouldn’t have gotten sick and been so humiliated.”

“She hit me and yelled at me. She was right to. Please don’t be mad at her.”

The screen froze on Natalia’s bruised arm.

Callum watched it, still gritting his teeth with hatred.

“Your Logic, Arbiter, find her guilty,” he said. “Natalia was so good to her, and she repayed that kindness by bullying her.”

As soon as he finished speaking, The Howl Stream exploded.

“This older sister is pure evil. They never should have brought her back.”

“If I had a sister like Natalia, I’d spoil her rotten. How could anyone bully her? Giselle is just a monster. Get rid of her already.”

“Exactly, Your Logic, Arbiter, find her guilty now!”

The comments from the pack, piled on top of my family’s hatred, sent me falling into an icy abyss. There was no one left. No one on my side.

I was probably going to be put down now.

No one wanted to hear my side.

No one cared about the truth.

They only believed what they saw with their own eyes.

Maybe dying here wouldn’t be so bad.

But just as I was drowning in despair, The Logicore’s mechanical voice rang out again.

“After a full comparison of the truth, the charge of harassment against the defendant, Giselle, is not established.”

Callum looked like he was about to cough up blood. “Your Logic, Arbiter, are you serious? That bitch Giselle — why the hell isn’t she guilty?”

The Howl Stream exploded with shock.

“What? Not guilty?”

“Why? She clearly hit Natalia. How is she not guilty? Did The Logicore glitch?”

“Shut up. The Logicore doesn’t glitch. There’s always more to the story. You’ve seen it prove everyone wrong before — how many times now?”

“Yeah, wait. Let’s see what The Logicore says.”

Then the screen lit up again.

It was playing my memories — extracted by The Veritas Engine.

After Tristan, Evelyn, and Callum had been shooed out of the room, Natalia and I were alone in the bedroom.

Natalia kindly led me to the bathroom and told me to wash up and get cleaned.

After I came out, she eagerly picked out clothes for me.

So kind. So sweet.

“Giselle, try this white outfit,” she said. “It’ll look beautiful on you.”

I looked at her with gratitude, my nose stinging. “Thank you… Giselle,” I said. “I don’t know what I would have done today without you.”

Natalia waved her hand casually. “It’s nothing, Giselle. Don’t be so grateful. We’re family.”

Suddenly, she clapped her hand over her mouth and burst out laughing.

“Hahaha — I can’t — I can’t hold it in anymore!” she gasped between laughs.

“This is too fucking funny. I can’t keep acting. Giselle, you are such a stupid, pathetic idiot. Hahaha — you actually thanked me!”

I stared at her in disbelief, not understanding what she meant.

Then she gave me a twisted smile. “You still don’t get it, do now, you dumb bitch? That cake you ate — I put something special in it. A massive dose of Moonshade Purge. Delicious, wasn’t it?”

“You think I would have baked you a cake because I wanted to? You’re nothing but a lowborn slut from the countryside. You don’t deserve shit from me.”

I just stared at her, dumbfounded.

She was more terrifying than any monster the old folks in my village used to warn me about.

My face pale, my voice barely a whisper, I said, “If you treat me like this… aren’t you afraid I’ll tell the Alpha and Luna?”

Natalia only laughed harder when she heard that.

“You still don’t get how screwed you are, do you, hick?”

“You think they’d believe you? Go ahead. Try. I dare you.”

Then Natalia dug her nails into her own arm — hard, over and over.

She messed up her hair.

Then she stumbled out of the room, sobbing, and ran downstairs.

And then came the act.

“Father, Mother, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have made that cake for Giselle…”
