The Period Blood Drew the Fish And He Called Me Dramatic Chapter 06

Within twenty-four hours, Adrian lost everything.

Bank representatives arrived at Whitmore Group with stacks of documents.

Business partners sent termination notices one after another.

The same people who used to chase after him and call him Mr. Whitmore turned on him overnight.

“Mr. Whitmore, it’s not that we don’t want to help you. The Hart family has made its position clear.”

“Our company is too small to survive that kind of pressure.”

“You’re on your own.”

One call after another was cut off.

Adrian sat in his office, his hair a mess and his eyes bloodshot.

He could not understand how Evelyn, the woman who used to make soup for him, straighten his tie, and even apologize when Sienna broke a glass, could possibly be the heiress of the Hart family.

What he understood even less was how the business empire he had always been so proud of had carried Evelyn’s fingerprints at every step.

His assistant said carefully, “Mr. Whitmore, we just confirmed that the anonymous fund behind our first round of financing belonged to Hart Group.”

“The land for the South Bay project was also made available by a company Ms. Hart owned.”

Adrian’s head snapped up.

“That’s impossible.”

“She never told me.”

The assistant did not dare answer.

Because everyone knew the truth. It was not that Evelyn had never told him.

It was that Adrian had never bothered to ask.

He had taken her sacrifices for granted.

He had mistaken her silence for weakness.

And he had treated her love like something he could crush under his heel whenever he wanted.

The office door was suddenly shoved open, and several creditors stormed in.

“Adrian Whitmore, pay us back!”

“The project is dead, the banks are calling in their loans, and you’re not walking away from this.”

“We heard you transferred your shares to that woman, Sienna Prescott. Get her out here!”

Adrian’s expression changed.

Right.

The shares.

He still had the fifty-one percent stake he had transferred to Sienna.

As long as he got it back, he still had a chance.

He grabbed his car keys and stumbled out of the company, heading straight for Sienna’s apartment.

When he pushed open the door, the place was in chaos.

The safe stood wide open. Sienna was stuffing jewelry, cash, and documents into a suitcase.

She jumped when she saw Adrian, but she quickly composed herself.

“What are you doing here?”

Adrian stared at her in disbelief.

“You’re running?”

Sienna sneered.

“What, should I stay here and die with you?”

“Whitmore Group is finished. Do you still think you’re some powerful CEO?”

Adrian’s face went pale.

“I gave you those shares.”

“Give them back.”

Sienna looked as if she had just heard something hilarious.

“You gave them to me, so they’re mine.”

“Adrian Whitmore, don’t tell me you actually thought I loved you.”

“If you hadn’t been rich and powerful, and if you hadn’t been willing to trample Evelyn for me, why would I have wasted my time playing your sweet little girl?”

Adrian shuddered all over.

At last, he saw the woman he had protected all this time for what she really was, but it was far too late.

He lunged forward to grab the suitcase.

Sienna screamed and clawed at his face.

The two of them fell to the floor, wrestling and tearing at each other.

“You bitch, give me the money!”

“You loser. You couldn’t even keep Evelyn under control, and now you think you can control me?”

A vase shattered on the floor.

Jewelry scattered everywhere.

Adrian and his precious Sienna finally tore away the disgusting act they had been hiding behind.

All that was left were two desperate losers tearing each other apart over money.
